Dear 3rd Year Students/Parents/Guardians, We would like to wish the 3rd Year Junior Cycle Students the very best of luck in their pre-junior examinations 2022 starting next week. It is very important to be organised, to arrive on time and to be prepared. Stay focused and give each examination your best effort. An examination is not only a test of your academic knowledge, it is a test of your ability to perform under pressure, to remain calm and to keep positive. It is a snapshot of your learning to date and there will be time to improve going forward. It is important to rest and get a good nights sleep and eat well. A tired mind and/or body will not allow you to be at your best. Best of luck and wishing you every success, Michael O’Sullivan Principal.

First outing for our under 16s who were off to winning ways against a good St. Paul’s side. It was a hard fought victory, as it was very close up to the last ten minutes when the friary boys nabbed two late goals to seal the win. @watppsgaa

In 2021, the State Examinations Commission (SEC), as part of its digital strategy, introduced the Candidate Self Service Portal (CSSP) as a one-stop shop for a range of online services for Leaving Certificate candidates. The CSSP will be used again for the 2022 Leaving Certificate so that candidates can confirm their examination entry details and access other services such as results and appeals. The portal opened at 12 noon on Thursday 3 February for candidates to confirm their subject entries and levels. It will remain open for this purpose until 5pm on Friday 11 February. It is essential that they register through the Portal as this Portal will provide students with the opportunity to confirm their subject choice and levels, to also allow future access to their results and for the later stages of the process such as the appeals application process. There is helpdesk support available at 1800-111135 or 1800-111136 between 9am to 5pm until Friday 11 February. Outside of these hours you can email candidateportal@examinations.ie Entries Section State Examinations Commission Athlone Address link www.examinations.ie/cssp/2022/

Two of our TY students are participating in the EU Model Council Debate. We are representing Romania. The Romanian embassy have been in touch with us and are providing us with useful information. The Romanian Embassy are also wondering if we have any students in the Friary that were born in Romania or have family living, working or studying in Romania. If this is the case can you please contact Ms McGann and she will provide you with further details. Many thanks.
