Dear 6th Year Students/Parents/Guardians, We would like to wish the Leaving Certificate Students the very best of luck in their pre-leaving examinations 2022 starting on Wednesday 2nd February. It is very important to be organised, to arrive on time and to be prepared. Stay focused and give each examination your best effort. An examination is not only a test of your academic knowledge, it is a test of your ability to perform under pressure, to remain calm and to keep positive. It is a snapshot of your learning to date and there will be time to improve going forward. It is important to rest and get a good nights sleep and eat well, a tired mind or body will not allow you to be at your best. Best of luck and wishing you every success, Michael O’Sullivan Principal.

81 of our TY students travelled to Cashel today and listened to the amazing history of the most spectacular and deservedly most visited tourist attractions. Set on a dramatic outcrop of limestone in the Golden Vale, the Rock of Cashel, iconic in its historic significance, possesses the most impressive cluster of medieval buildings in Ireland. Among the monuments to be found there is a round tower, a high cross, a Romanesque chapel, a Gothic cathedral, an abbey, the Hall of the Vicars Choral and a fifteenth-century Tower House. Originally the seat of the kings of Munster, according to legend St. Patrick himself came here to convert King Aenghus to Christianity. Brian Boru was crowned High King at Cashel in 978 and made it his capital. TY students got a great history lesson. Many thanks to Ms Fennell, Mr Keane, Mr Cummins and Ms McGann for travelling with the students.

Today 81 of our TY students travelled to Mitchelstown Caves. The cave's unusual formations, shapes, colour and history made it an enthralling visit. The caves are amongst the finest Limestone caves in Europe, extending over an area about 16 kms long and 5 kms wide, between Cahir and Mitchelstown. A haven of mystery and intrigue, it is a chilling and exciting place. Up to one 1 km deep, the showcave boasts some spectacular stalagmite and stalactite formations; the Tower of Babel, standing 10 metres high, is a wondrous sight and a timeless tribute to the power and wonder of nature. Today the students Junior Cycle geography books came to life!!!! Many thanks to Ms Fennell, Mr Keane, Mr Cummins and Ms McGann for travelling with the students.
