Students thoroughly enjoyed making these beautiful handmade and hand-stitched Valentine's offerings during Ms O Kennedy's craft module. A handmade gift lets someone feel extra special because rather than giving a shop-bought present, you chose to put your time into creating something.

Today in Ms McGraths TY Geography module students presented their projects on "Flags of the World" to their class. Once the presentations were over the boys treated the class to some pancakes which they made using their crepe maker. The class was enjoyed by all.

"Flipping" Busy !!!! Behind every great pancake or 100 there are 6 great TY pancake makers and Ms Dowley. Well done for doing an amazing job to feed the many students and teachers that supported this event in aid of Motor Neurone Disease.

Three of our TY students Angie, Eolann and Éabha performed in Matilda during midterm. Congratulations to the many Friary students who stared in The Dungarvan Junior Musical Stage School production of Matilda. Matilda the Musical is a musical based on the 1988 children's novel of the same name by Roald Dahl. It was a fantastic nights entertainment held in the Sports Centre last week.
Pancake Tuesday 1st March !

Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday, is the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. TY students along with Ms Dowley will be selling pancakes in the Home Economics room next to the canteen during 11am and 1.15pm break. Don't forget to bring your money if you want a pancake. Proceeds raised will be donated to the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Motor Industry-Competition

The Society of the Irish Motor industry (SIMI) have launched a €3,000 Computers for Schools Competition. The objective of the competition is to raise awareness about the benefits of an apprenticeship and how one is obtained. To enter, students simply have to answer a series of questions based on a short video, with applications submitted through our website page www.simi.ie/en/schools-competition 3 winners of the competition will be selected, each receiving a set of Beats Studio Buds worth €150 and a €1,000 computer equipment voucher for their school. The competition is open to all secondary school students to win computer equipment for their school.
