Friary 2-2 Crescent Friary win 3-2 on shuttles!! Munster Final here we come!! After racing into a 2-0 lead in the first quarter with goals from Hannah & Ciara Q, we held firm until halftime. Credit to @SjCrescent they fought back in the second half to leave the game level at 2-2. This meant shuttles and up stepped Niamh L & Sara D to put us ahead but still we couldn’t be separated! Until the 11th penalty when goalie Cashel made her 9th save leaving Niamh L to score and send us through! ️ @So_Hockey @Munster_Hockey #Relish

Friday morning we were invited to a briefing by MEP Deirdre Clune regarding the Future of Europe. Andela Vukobrat a TY student was our Junior Ambassador on the call along with Ms McGann our Senior Ambassador. This webinar took place on 4 March from 10:00am-11:00am over the Zoom platform. The Conference on the Future of Europe offers EU citizens the opportunity to express their views on what they want from the European Union and their opinions on future developments through a digital platform and through Citizens Panels. As a member of the Conference plenary, Deirdre is very well placed to brief students on the recommendations from the European Citizens’ Panels, one of which took place in Dublin on 25-27 February 2022. Deirdre will also speak about the broader issue of participative democracy. This is particularly important for our students who will be voting for the first time in the 2024 European elections. During this European Year of Youth, this is another opportunity for young people to get their voices heard and to share with Deirdre their visions for the future of Europe or to ask questions during the Q&A session.
