First Year Retreat

Today, all of the first years had a mindfulness retreat. There were so many fun activities! We started off by making ourselves a set of rules and guidelines we have for our class, such as, respect others and always listen to each other. After that, we headed outside to the hockey pitch to do some ice-breakers. One of the tasks was to get to know each others talents. We were given a grid (on a sheet) and in each box there was a description/talent e.g someone who can play an instrument. We had to go around and get the signature of the person with that talent, whoever filled their grid first won. We also played wink murder. We had a short break to eat lunch. The final part was the most fun! This was where we played a game called fruit bowl. It got us all active. We then finished off the day with a relaxing meditation. Overall it was a great experience and gave us the opportunity to get to know our class better and work together as a unit. Gwen Murray M1
