Thank you to the 5th Year Le Chéile Council for organising a St. Brigid's cross workshop during the week which was thoroughly enjoyed by the students who took up the challenge!
The Chinese class in TY facilitated a fabulous celebration of the Chinese New Year, showcasing cultural performances, foods, costumes and crafts!
The TYs were also busy at the cinema, doing drama workshops, writing workshops and preparing for Work Experience next week - we wish them the best!
Shane Carthy, former Dublin GAA star, addressed a group this morning about mental health challenges and how he approaches his own struggles with depression. It was an insightful and valuable perspective for the students to hear.

Finally, our Senior Camogie Team is competing in the Senior All Ireland B Series Semi Final for the first time this Saturday. The girls will be playing against Mercy Roscommon. The game is taking place in Dr Hyde Park in Roscommon at 12pm. A huge achievement to get this far, best of luck girls!

Leaving Certificate Candidate Self Service Portal 2025 will reopen Tuesday 04th February to Tuesday 11th February.
It is essential that all students sitting the Leaving Certificate in 2025 register through the Portal as this Portal will provide students with the opportunity to confirm their subject choice and levels, access their results and for the later stages of the process such as the appeals application process. Candidates who registered previously in October 2024 can now also log in to amend subjects/levels.
They will need to complete the following steps:

STEP 1 Register to create your account
STEP 2 Confirm your Subjects and Levels
To register students will require their examination number and PIN (first 4 digits of your PPSN).
Candidates must engage with the portal and review the information presented very carefully and complete Step 1 -Registration and Activate their Candidate Self Service Portal account.
Once a Candidate has created their account they will receive an Account Activation email from the State Examinations Commission to activate your account. In order to complete the registration process, Candidates must click on the link in the email sent to their email account. The email will be from the State Examinations Commission. Clicking the link in the email completes the registration process and confirms the creation of their Candidate Self Service Portal Account. NB: An Account is not activated until a candidate clicks on the link in the Account Activation email.
Candidates must then proceed to Step 2. Confirm Subjects and Levels. Candidate will see the subjects which they are entered for currently and will be able to amend if necessary. Once they are satisfied they must click the Submit button. A confirmation email will then be sent to the email they registered on the portal outlining the subjects and levels they confirmed.

Great sporting action this week in OLS.
Well done to the cross country team who braved the wind and rain on Thursday to represent OLS in the West Leinster Schools' cross country finals. Each athlete showed determination to complete the course in challenging conditions. Well done to Maria Clarke and Lucy O'Neill who finished in the top 10 in their races and congratulations to Ruby Farrelly who was the convincing winner of the Junior girls race. Best of luck to Maria, Lucy and Ruby in the upcoming Leinster finals.
The Senior Camogie team is training hard this week in advance of the All Ireland Semi-final this Saturday.
In other news, the Le Chéile council in 5th Year prepared various activities for Catholic Schools' week last week.
