Congratulations to Molly Mullally, Leaving Cert Class of 2024, who was awarded the prestigious JP McManus Scholarship recently for her excellent Leaving Certificate results.
Dear Parents & Guardians of incoming Transition Year & Leaving Certificate Applied students,
Thank you for taking part in the recent consultation process regarding the introduction of 1:1 devices for incoming Transition Year and Leaving Certificate Applied students (2025/26). The support for moving in this direction has been overwhelmingly positive (from parents, students and staff) given the nature of the ongoing coursework involved in both Senior Cycle programmes and it has been decided to proceed with the introduction of 1:1 devices for these cohorts.
We have finalised the details for a suitable Chromebook bundle and are now in a position to share the payment plan information with you. Please note that all incoming students of Transition Year and Leaving Certificate Applied are to purchase this approved model before the start of the school year August 2025. Please also note that other models are NOT acceptable and will not be permitted in school. All information is in the attached letter from our IT providers, PCP Peripherals, who will be in a position to answer any queries you may have regarding the spec of the devices or the payment schedule.
Yours sincerely,
M. Gorby
Please see this week's menu attached, in addition to information regarding the card overdraft facility as we are nearing the end of term.
Many thanks.
On Wednesday, the Irish Indoor Hockey Tournament took place. There were super competitive results such as a draw against St Andrews and a narrow loss 4-3 to Alex College. The girls finished with 5-1 win against Ashton. It was a wonderful tournament and the players were brilliant! Cliodhna O’Donoghue was particularly outstanding against a couple of international players. What a great start to our Indoor Hockey venture!
TYs visited Trinity College Dublin on Thursday for a talk and tour.
Our athletics team had another successful, sunny day in Santry! Once again, everyone left it all on the track! Congratulations to our medal winners. Sarah Kiernan 1st Senior 200m, Alannah Giles 1st Senior 400m, Khloe Hogan 2nd Inter 800m, Roisin Hanley Byrne 3rd Inter 800m.
Commiserations to our fantastic Minor Camogie team who fell just short of a third consecutive Dublin A Championship. In the challenging heat, the girls battled a very strong Coláiste Íosagáin team and just fell short in an excellent game. Another brilliant season and a huge achievement getting to the final, well done girls!

Congratulations to Leah Vance TY4 who has been shortlisted in the Young Journalist Ireland competition for her opinion piece entitled; 'The good, the bad and the ugly'. She will represent OLS at the national final on 13th May in the Aviva Stadium. Well done Leah - we are very proud of you and wish you the best of luck at the final.
Yesterday, two of our First Year girls' GAA teams travelled to Ringsend to take part in the annual Scoop Cup Schools Competition. The event saw schools from across the region compete in a series of fast-paced and exciting games. Both of our teams played exceptionally well throughout the day, showing great teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship. One team had a phenomenal performance, going unbeaten in the group stages and continuing their winning streak all the way to the Cup Final, where they were crowned champions without losing a single game. Our second team also had a strong showing, progressing through their group and into the Shield Final after a series of competitive matches. Despite a valiant effort, they narrowly missed out on the shield title, but should be very proud of their performance and resilience. Congratulations to all the players involved—an excellent day of sport and a great representation of our school!
