The excitement is brewing for TY’s first Development Day this coming Monday. TY1’s will be heading to Dublin city to experience The Little Museum, the State Room in Dublin Castle and EPIC. TY2’s are very excited to learn some self defence moves. TY3’s will enjoy ‘A Pilgrim Path’, a walking tour of Dublin city’s most beautiful Churches and an insight into their rich history. This activity is always a favourite with students who enjoy a voyage of stillness and inward reflection as they journey from Church to Church. TY4’s will become certified 1st Aiders. Last but not least TY5’s will experience all Dublin Zoo has to offer including a conservation module.
This week our Sports Leadership class presented their first community activity to their classmates. Run In the Dark is open for sign up and also on easy payments. There is already talk of fairy lights and colourful Tutu’s including house colours.
The OLS Careers Department are delighted to announce they will be holding a HPAT seminar for any TY, 5th and 6th year students who are interested in applying to medicine and want to learn about taking the HPAT. This seminar will take place on Tuesday 25th October at 3.45pm. More details will be provided to students closer to the time. This is perfect timing, with all TY students currently investigating the links between Medicine and Maths through the Career Mathways Programme.
The TY Enterprise are very excited to announce they will be holding their first Fair next month. The Halloween Enterprise Fair will be open to 1st, 2nd and 4th year students on Wednesday 19th October.
A gentle reminder that the balance is now due for Carlingford. If your daughter has not yet submitted a signed copy of the school's rules, together with a completed medical form, please make sure this is done no later than Tuesday the 27th of September.
Today is the deadline for the first block of work experience. The google form document is available to all students on Google Classroom. It is vital that they record their placement details. Please ensure this is done by the end of today.
