- Today the 6th Years had a talk from Joyce McRedmond. She spoke to them about the need to be kind to ourselves if we are to navigate successfully through these times of uncertainty. The girls were told to be the best friend to themselves that they always wanted to have. Lots of us are working in isolation so the act of reaching out is so important. It was an uplifting start to the last full week in January. We also wish to acknowledge Joyce's generosity with her donation to Pieta House, which now rounds up our fundraising for this cause to €2500. - Well done to everyone who got involved in last week's House Challenge to make an origami house mascot. As you can see from the pictures, we have some very creative individuals in all the houses. A special mention to C House. C6 were very impressive with 22 entries. However the undoubted winners of bonus House Spirit points were C3, with EVERY STUDENT in the class getting involved and making an origami cow! Well done to C3. All other form classes take note - the bar has been set high for future challenges! -Well done to the 1st Years who entered the 'Get up and move' song competition on behalf of their class. The class who entered the most song entries was....L1!! L1 will now receive House Spirit points for L House. L1 recommend you boogie to: 'Don't stop the music' by Rhianna 'Wake me up' by Avicci 'Dance Monkey' by Tones and I 'Golden' by Harry Styles 'Don't stop me now' by Queen
Some inspiration from our Le Chéile Council to start your week...

Our 5th Year Le Chéile Council decided to get their heads together to come up with some motivating and inspirational messages to help us get going each day. Let's face it, it can be hard to get motoring some mornings, especially when we miss the parts of school that make it more fun and lighthearted, like our friends and classmates. This morning the 5th Years are reminding us that even though it can be a challenge, rising up to meet that challenge brings rewards. Your first challenge this morning is to be ready for class at 8.30 (TYs, don't forget your 8.30am assembly link will be sent to your email account just before the bell!) ... if you need an extra push this morning, decide now what you will reward yourself with later after a good Monday's effort!

Our TYs have had a busy week of talks between the SHINE Festival ran by the Shóna Project on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and also attending their first medical talk ran by Tallaght University Hospital on Thursday. Please see some notices below for the week ahead. 1. . Wellbeing week starts on Monday. Ms. Reilly has organised an exciting week which will be shared on the app. Please encourage your daughter to partake fully in the week plan. 2. An app has been shared with your daughter on the google classroom from the guidance department. It is designed for students to complete two short assessments and get an outline of 3rd level courses which may suit their interests. 3. Reminder that your daughter has her modern foreign language orals happening on Monday and Thursday class time. She should also be continuing with updating her ePortfolio with the talks she attended this week from both the Shóna Project, and the first medical talk from Tallaght University Hospital. 4. Sport Ireland are looking for participants (students, teachers & coaches) for a hackathon that looks for solutions for getting girls active!
