Reindeer Run 2021

Our fun Reindeer run /walk will take place on Tuesday 21st of December. Each class group will take part and either walk or run in their class group. They will then come back to school and have a Christmas Party in their base classroom and will then get the chance to watch the recording of our Christmas Concert. All year groups must dress in the following them
6th Yr - Reindeers
5th Yr - Santas
TY - Elves
3rd Yr - Reindeers
2nd Yr - Santas
1st Yr - Elves

TY Christmas Trees

This year our TY Students are once again doing their Christmas Trees for charity. The 4 charities this year are, Barnardos Childrens Charity, St Josephs Dementia Centre, Saoirse Womens Refuge and the Peter Mc Verry Trust.
We would ask any Student who would like to donate a present to please place them under their chosen tree.

Congratulations to our Senior A Basketball Team who won their Leinster U19 final today. They beat a strong Colaiste Bride side in a hard fought match.

SVP Christmas Appeal 2021

The School Ember Team are once again asking our students and families to join together to help us donate to the SVP Christmas Food Appeal. Each year group will be given a list items to bring in to school and we will collect all these items on Thursday 16th December. There will be collection bags left in all base classrooms where donations can be left. Please see the attached information sheet from the St Vincent De Paul
The following is the list for each year group.
1st Yr - Tinned food.
2nd Yr - Pasta / Rice and Noodles./ Pasta Sauces.
3rd Yr - Selection Boxes
TY - Cereals / Muesli / Cereal Bars / Jams / Marmalades
5th Yr - Tea / Coffee / Sugar
6th Yr - Boxes of Biscuits / Sweets / Treats

We would like to wish good luck to our Senior A Basketball team in tomorrows Leinster League Semi Final v Manor House, Raheny.
The bus to bring the girls to their match will leave at 12.30 and return at approx 4.14.
Perform Ireland 2021

Congratulations to our musical theatre students who attended 'Perform Ireland 2021' on Friday 26th November. The school is very proud of the Junior and Senior musical theatre groups who performed on the main stage in the RDS. Students enjoyed participating in musical theatre workshops throughout the day. Well done to all of the soloists who took to the stage to compete in the 'Sing to Win' competition. Lara Devitt, Millie Downes and Jessica Forde received prizes for their solo performances. Congratulation to Lexi Forde who was awarded 1st place for her performance of 'I dreamed a dream'.
BT Young Scientist 2021

We are delighted to announce that we have two projects qualified for the BT Young Scientist Final! We are extremely proud of the girls as the lead the way for STEM in our school.
The first project is a group of 1st Yr Students. Chloe Drury Byrne, Alison Heeny and Evelyn Roche and their project title is 'Are Fidget Toys Beneficial for Neurotypicals?'
The second project is from TY Students Ella Cowman, Zoe Moore and Anna Daly their project title is' Who Do You Think You Are Talking To?' -To investigate the phenomenon of mask fishing and to map what the average person expects a stranger to look like below their mask.

Thank you to our past pupil and Irish Hockey Player Hannah Mc Loughlin. Hannah visited and spoke with both our 1st and 2nd Yr Students on Thursday. She spoke to them of her Olympic Journey and some inspirational advice on achieving and performing in all walks of life. Our Sports Captain Jennifer Leavy presented Hannah with a small token to acknowledge her sporting achievements.
