Bake Sale For Haiti Raises €500

A sincere thank you to all the teachers, parents and students who baked or donated cakes in aid of the bake sale on Thursday 30th March which saw €500 being raised on behalf of The Haven Partnership For Haiti.
The impoverished people of Haiti – the poorest in the western world- already shattered by the destruction of the 2010 earthquake, were hit by the calamitous Hurricane Matthew in 2016, which devastated so many of the rebuilt homes and social facilities, and left much of the nation bereft.
The Irish NGO HAVEN, founded by Cork businessman Leslie Buckley and his wife Carmel, works solely in Haiti, providing shelter, water and sanitation, training and education. Thousands of generous Irish people have raised funding, travelled the hard miles, and laid brick on brick to raise hope as well as homes, with and for the people of Haiti.
We wish all the volunteers the very best of luck as they prepare to visit and work in Haiti in the coming weeks.
