2nd Year CP Adventure

This is a reminder about the 2nd year trip to CP Adventure tomorrow. There will be a roll call at tutor time and we will be leaving straight after that at 9.00am. We will be leaving the adventure centre at 4pm. It is a 40-minute drive to Foxrock, so depending on traffic we should be back at the school around 4.40-5.00pm. The weather has been very mixed the last couple of days, so students should make sure to bring sun cream for the sun, and rain gear and a change of clothes for the rain. As a reminder here is the complete checklist that CP Adventure gave us: Hand sanitizer. Sun Cream. All participants must have their feet covered. Sandals/flip flops are not appropriate footwear. Runners are the best form of footwear for the adventure centre. Please don’t bring your brand new pair, as they may get wet and mucky! If you can bring a spare pair to change into after, that would be great. We recommend that you bring warm clothes or layers of clothes (fleece) for activities. You should also bring a change of clothes. A hat and gloves is strongly advised for cold weather. We strongly recommend that you bring a rain jacket, rain bottoms if you can, as the weather can change very quickly! Swimwear is not required, but please bring change of clothes and footwear. Please bring a towel for after the water activities. You may have wet clothes, so bring a plastic bag to put them in. Mobile Phones/Electronic Equipment, such as ipods, iphones, etc. are not be brought to the centre. We ask that all students leave them at home. We will take equipment from students before activities begin. Looking forward to a great day, whatever the weather!

Dear TY Students, Parents and Guardians As you may know the Transition Year End of Year Exhibition will take place on Monday 23rd May 2022 from 16.00 – 18.00. Students will have on display samples of their very best work representing the broad curriculum covered during the Transition Year. These exhibits will be on display in each of the TY Tutor classrooms – E5, E6, E7 and E8. Parents, Guardians, and students are welcome to visit all the classrooms to see what each group had studied and experienced since September 2021. Demonstrations of practical skills learnt will also be made either in the classrooms or on the big stage in the school’s Concert Hall. The formal welcome to the Exhibition has been scheduled for 16.45 and proceedings should conclude around 18.00. Due to the limited number of seats available in the Concert Hall only two Parents/Guardians per student can be accommodated on the evening of the exhibit. At the end of the evening all students will be asked to collect their work, computers, diaries and to make their classrooms ready for school the next day, all before heading home. We are all looking forward to welcoming you all on the 23rd of May 2022. Ms Early 10th May 2022
