Dear TY Students, Parents and Guardians
I have no doubt that all of TY are looking forward to tomorrow's team building trip to Carlingford Adventure Centre. We have an early start in the morning - meeting in the Sports Hall at 06.40 for roll call!
Just a few reminders:
1. You need to bring a sleeping bag/duvet and pillow
2. You will be handing your mobile phones over to me, so please ensure that you have your name on your phone. Ensure that it is turned off (not on sleep/silent mode). A word of warning, if a phone goes off and wakes me up ....... well there goes your pocket money (€5 fine!)
3. Do not bring a second sneaky phone with you!! - Parents I ask your support with this instructionand collection of your mobile phones. Please make sure you have your name on your phone.
4. Bring water and snacks with you.
5. Bring a pack of cards/instrument, prepare your party piece!
6. Remember the purpose of this trip - getting to know your new classmates - be kind, be inclusive, don't forget to ensure to include people into your chat, your activities.
For you the parents/guardians I have attached a fridge sheet giving details of where we will be and how to contact me in an emergency should the need arise.
Get a good night sleep and see you in the morning.

Dear Parents and Guardians. Please use the SET DOWN AREAS ONLY when dropping off students to the school. The area on the avenue as you approach the school is best. To avoid congestion, students may be dropped at Foxrock Church and walk across to school using the footbridge.
Students with devices need only to bring their device, school journal & copies to school today. PLEASE DO NOT BRING LARGE QUANTITIES OF BOOKS TO SCHOOL.
We are looking forward to welcoming all our students this morning.

Dear TY Students, Parents and Guardians
I hope that you have all had a wonderful summer and are now ready and eager to start your Transition Year. Ms Giblin, myself and your Tutors are very much looking forward to meeting with you tomorrow morning at 10am in the Concert Hall.
In the meantime, please find attached information on the upcoming TY Team Building Trip scheduled for the 1st and 2nd of September 2022. All TY students are expected to take part in this overnight adventure - it is a key step to getting to know your new classmates. Please have a good read of the information given - I'm sure you will be delighted to read about the early start Thursday next! The Consent and Medical forms must be printed out, completed, signed and returned fairly quickly to your Tutors so that relevant information can be sent to Carlingford Adventure Centre on Monday. (Remember there will be a Class Talent Show Battle taking place in the evening so please start planning on what instruments to bring, songs to sing.... plan your party piece).
See ye tomorrow morning, bright eyed and bushy tailed, ready to go....

Dear Parents and Guardians
We hope you all had an enjoyable and restful summer. Welcome back to all our students from 2nd to 5th Year. Welcome also to our new 1st year students and those students joining us for the first time this year. I also wish to welcome our new Deputy Principal, Ms Fionnuala Gleeson. We are all looking forward to working with her and wish her every success in her new role.
This year is a new start in very many ways. We are commencing the year without any of the Covid restrictions that have been in place since March 2020. It is an exciting time for the school with many wonderful events to look forward to. The schedule for the next few days is on the school calendar on the App, with classes commencing as normal at 8.50am on Tuesday 30th August.
Just a few gentle reminders:
Uniform - full school uniform is to be worn to school on a daily basis.
Jewellery - To be kept to a minimum as per the Code of Behaviour
Make-up and Enhancements - Make up should not be worn to school, nor should false eyelashes, nails etc.
The use of mobile phones is not permitted on the school campus. Phones are to be switched off, once on the school campus and kept in the student's locker.
Lockers will be made available to students for the start of the year.
We are looking forward to welcoming all our students back into school and we look forward to a successful school year ahead.
Kind regards
Bernadette Prendiville, Principal.
