We have had another sucessful few weeks of sport in school.
Congratulations to our 1st Yr A Badminton Team who won their Dublin Final this week, the girls now move on to the Leinster Competition. Our 1st Yr B Team narrowly lost on in their final.
The Junior A Hockey Team are into the semi finals in both the Leinster League and Cup and will be playing Beaufort in the cup semi final on Wednesday at 3 in Foxrock.
Our Senior B Hockey Team will also play Beaufort in their Leinster League Semi Final some time this week.
The 1st Yr A Team had a good win in the cup v High School and move into the next round.
Congratulations to Lauren Hickey (1st Yr) who has been selected to the Dublin U14 Football Panel. The team play Cork today, best of luck Lauren.
Congratulations also to Seodhna Ni Riain (3rd Yr) and Suzie Dalton (TY), both girls have been selected for the Dublin U16 Camogie Panel.
Finally good luck to Grace Jones, Isobel Field and Sarah Byrne (all ty) who are playing for Leinster U16 Hockey team in this weekends Interpro Final. The match v Ulster is being played in UCD on Sunday at 3.30.
The very best of luck to Mya Madigan (5th Year) and Ciara Redden (TY) who are competing today in the UCD L&H Mace Debating Competition.
Junior Cycle Profile Awards
The TYs began an exciting week on Monday with the presentation of their JC Profile Awards. These awards acknowledged their achievements in their state exams, their CBAs and other areas of learning with an emphasis on their contribution to extra-curricular life in the school. Many thanks to Ms.Kenny who arranged a celebratory party following the official presentation.

There will be a celebration immediately following the show on Friday at CBC.

To avoid the traffic congestion of recent weeks, Evening Study will finish at 7.20pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting on Monday 20th Feb until Easter. Study will finish as normal on Wednesdays at 5pm and Friday at 6.30pm.

Tomorrow, Thursday 30th March is National "Hello How Are You" day. Weather permitting, all 2nd and 3rd year students will participate in a walk and talk event during the day. The purpose of this is to create more genuine connections. Please wear your PE gear in tomorrow to facilitate this.

As you know last year, the leadership team had organised an ice bucket challenge to raise money for a girl named Alice who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. Due to the icy weather last year, we were unable to go ahead with the challenge, but now that the winter has passed the leadership team are ready to take on the challenge again. Only this time we have switched up the rules.
We have challenged 7 teachers to do the ice bucket challenge, 6 of which are going to be named and 1 will remain a secret. The 6 named teachers have only agreed to being ice bucketed IF we reached a targeted amount. These are the amounts the teachers have agreed to:
Ms. Norton - €500
Ms. Byrne - €1,000
Ms. Slattery - €1,500
Mr. Coyle - €2,000
Mr. Finn - €2,500
Mr. Murphy - €3,000
The 7th teacher who will remain unnamed will only be disclosed and ice bucketed when we have reached €3,500.
This will take place on the 15th of March at 1:00, so make sure you donate before the buckets arrive.

TY musIcal tickets for all year groups will go on sale at 10am tomorrow.
Recommended evenings for other year groups are as follows:
Tuesday 28th – 1st years -100 tickets available
Wednesday 29th – 5th and 6th years - 60 tickets available
Thursday 30th – 2nd years - 80 tickets available
Friday 31st - 3rd years ( a small number of remaining tickets for this evening will be released to 3rd years separately tomorrow)
Please go to the shop section of the app tomorrow at 10am to purchase tickets €15 for 1 ticket, €50 for 4, €80 for 6 etc.
