Dear Parents/Guardians,
Tomorrow, Thursday 25th May we are celebrating Africa Day. It is an international day celebrating the beauty and diversity of Africa. Our sister school, Loreto Rumbek, in South Sudan have sent us a lovely video message to help us celebrate the day with them. This video will be shared with you via email.
We will be having a day of workshops and an end of day performance with Tura, an exponent of the intersection between Gaelic and Sub-Saharan African culture, as well as a noted choreographer. These workshops will be run for 1st, 3rd and 5th year students and we hope the day will bring joy for the students.
In tandem with this, and in the spirit of justice, we would like to do some fundraising for our sister school Loreto Rumbek. We would ask that students contribute €2 for the workshops with all money going to Loreto Rumbek and all other students to make a €2 donation. Contributions from any other student/year group are more than welcome. Payment is available through the App.
We thank you for your generosity and support of Loreto Rumbek. F Gleeson.
