Luan 8ú Samhain
Thug na daltaí go léir ón idirbhliain cúirt ar an phictiúrlann inniu chun féachaint ar an scannán "Arracht", an fadscannán as Gaeilge is déanaí. Dráma dorcha suite i gConamara le linn an Drochshaoil atá sa scannán sin agus thaitin sé go mór leis na daltaí. Thaitin an gráin rósta leo chomh maith!
Monday 8 November
TY students were treated to a cinema outing to see the Irish language drama "Arracht".
This dark tale set in Conemara in famine times is the first Irish language feature film to be released in some time and is being hotly tipped for an Oscar nomination in the Best film in a foreign language category.
For many of our Friary students it was their first cinema outing since pre covid times so there was great excitement as the students supplied themselves with popcorn and soft drinks to enjoy during the screening!
The film went down very well with students and we look forward to the next cinema outing.

On Wednesday TY2 students completed their First Aid Course and today TY3 enjoyed their First Aid Course with Cora Fitzgerald. First aid is an important tool in quickly responding to accidents to ensure that injuries can be efficiently and promptly dealt with before a trained medical professional arrives to administer more specialised treatment. Well done TYs.

We now await a result.

National Children First Awareness Week

News
Children First Awareness Week is taking place from 1st to 7th November 2021. Children First promotes the protection of children from abuse and neglect, by setting out what individuals and organisations need to do to keep children safe, and how to deal with concerns about a child’s safety or welfare. Society has a duty of care towards children, and everyone should be alert to the possibility that children they are in contact with may be abused or at risk of abuse or neglect. If you are concerned about a child or young person, you should contact Tusla social work department. Organisations classed as providers of relevant services under the Children First Act 2015 are required to complete a risk assessment and must have a Child Safeguarding Statement in place. More information on keeping children safe in our communities is available at gov.ie/childrenfirst
