Today we had the pleasure of sampling Carmel Brownies produced by the Bakestreet boys. They got 5 star rating all round. The Bakestreet boys will be selling during lunch break next week. Watch out for them on the Header.

Career Skills Competition 2022 Launched Careers Portal are delighted to launch the 2022 Career Skills Competition in partnership with AIB. The competition, now in its 11th year, promotes the development of key career skills and highlights the importance of self-directed career research. The competition links directly into the various work placement programs associated with Transition Year, LCVP and Leaving Certificate Applied. Work experience is generally regarded as having a strong influence on a young person’s choice of career and offers an excellent opportunity to experience at first-hand the realities of a work environment. Who can enter? The competition is open to all Transition Year and Senior Cycle students who have completed Work Experience. Why should the students enter? Apart from the excellent prizes for both the winning students and their schools, students will gain good awareness of the key Career Skills and how these skills are important to, and transferrable throughout, the world of work. Euroscola Online Event

Today the Euroscola team in Brussels invited us to do a sound check for the upcoming Euroscola Online Session on Friday 12th November. It was very exciting to meet participating schools from around the EU. Our TY students are 1 of only 4 Irish Schools participating in this event. We have to submit one question on the session topic “The EU in the World”. All TY parents were sent a link about this upcoming event.

All 6th years had the opportunity to attend a UCD or a Suir Engineering Apprenticeship talk today. Many thanks to UCD admissions teams and Paul Cremin from Suir Engineering. Many thanks to Ms O Sullivan, Ms Cashin, Ms McGann, Ms Green and Ms Buckley for helping to facilitate the talks in a covid conscious manner in 5 classrooms. Next week. Carlow IT. Carlow are popular for media, film, Tv, physiology, and sports rehab courses and much more. Here is a link to Carlow IT courses. If you have an idea for a speaker please let me know. TY 5 enjoyed a Craft Module with Ms O Kennedy in Rotation 1. They made accordion books to hold photos/mementos as gifts for a parent/relative/friend. Just beautiful pieces.
