Harry Breen and Daithí Colleran played Andrew Tobin and Tommy Breen in the Intermediate doubles final with the boys having a great victory to bring the Munster title to the Friary. We wish them all the best in the All-Ireland Colleges finals.

Our 1st year girls who took part in their first hockey blitz in Cork today. We had 4 teams competing and all 54 girls played in at least 3 games. Lots of skill and fun on display. Big thanks to Scoil Mhuire for organizing. ️

Transition Year
Fota Wildlife Park, part of the Zoological Society of Ireland, is located on 100 acres at Fota Island 10km east of Cork City and has an annual attendance of 440,000 visitors. It is currently the second largest visitor attraction in Ireland outside of Leinster. TY student Rían Pender enjoyed one week block of work experience in Fota last week. Well done Rían.

Theatre Royal - Psycho Spaghetti

115 TY students enjoyed a day in Waterford city. We went to Ger Carey with his hilarious stand-up comedy show for transition year students in the Theatre Royal. By secretly observing his subjects in their natural habitat, such as leaning on lampposts, in chippers, outside chippers, in shopping centres and sitting on any kind of steps, Ger has uncovered the weird and frightening world of the teenager! The aim of the show is to get teenagers to laugh at themselves and appreciate the differences of others. When the students were asked to scale the show out of 10 most of them gave it an eight or upwards they really enjoyed it. Our TYs then had the opportunity to enjoy lunch with their friends and of course a visit to Penney's! Many thanks to Ms Pender, Ms Coffey, Mr Cosgrave, Mary O Regan SNA and Ms MaGann for travelling with the students.
