Congratulations to TY students Orla and Lisa they are enjoying a week in Dublin. They received a place on the Concern Worldwide TY Academy. The girls are taking part in the programme during the week of 14th November (Monday to Friday) in the Concern office on Camden Street, Dublin. There are 19 other participants during this week, and they will be doing a combination of the following: · Hearing from staff both in Ireland and overseas to find out about their roles and their work. · Learning more about the challenges faced by communities that we work with overseas. · Taking part in project work. This is a wonderful opportunity for the girls. When they return they will be briefing the 1st year Religion Classes all about what they learned. Well done girls for taking advantage of this opportunity which was offered to all TY students.

Our Junior Hockey team continued their strong start to the league with a deserved 3:1 win over St Angela’s College. A debut in goal from Lily kept us level with a number of fine saves as we started slowly. It took until the second quarter before we found our groove, Siun scoring from close range after a goalmouth scramble. A couple of minutes later captain Sarah finished expertly into the corner after a mazy run around a number of defenders. The second half continued with us on top and we grabbed our 3rd when another debut player, Aoife Lattimore unleashed an unstoppable shot. St Angela’s then pulled a goal back to make the last 10 minutes a bit more nervous but we held out to claim another victory on the road. The whole panel played a part and everyone got game time. Lots more hockey to be played from this gang! ️
