The L. C. V. P exam due to take place next week will not go ahead due to the current restrictions.
The only information we have at this time is that the examination us due to be rescheduled for late July or August. We will update you upon the receipt of any new information in relation to the Leaving Certificate.

Cookery Competition

A huge number of our talented students have been passing their time by using their culinary skills to create an array of sweet and savoury dishes.
To further encourage this fantastic work, the Home Economics department will host a cookery competition for Junior Cycle and Transition year students.
Students are asked to take a picture of a sweet or savoury item they have created along with a brief description and send it to their Home Economics teacher. The winning entries will have their recipe published on the school website and receive a prize.
Closing date for entries is Friday 15th May.
5th Careers Research Workbook

Please find attached a workbook for all 5th year students to prepare for Career and Course Choice in 6th year.
This is an excellent opportunity to research courses and further training options.

State Exams Fees

RE: COVID-19 - Clarification on payment of Examination Fees 2020
The SEC would be grateful if you would bring the following information to the attention of your examination candidates/parents/guardians:
Leaving Certificate Fees: The closing date for payment of the Leaving Cert examination fee is being extended until after the exams are complete and the results has issued.
Junior Certificate/Cycle Fees : Students will not be required to pay an examination fees to the SEC in relation to the 2020 Junior Cycle examinations, the SEC will be issuing a refund to all students who have already paid. There is no need to contact the State Examinations Commission as refunds will be made automatically. Further details will be sent to all schools in the coming days.

We welcome clarification on the arrangements for the Junior Cycle 2020.
This is an extract from the Press Release.
- All third year Junior Cycle students to be awarded certificates for the completion of Junior Cycle by the Department of Education and Skills
- Schools given autonomy to assess students and all students to receive a report on achievement
- Adult learners to be given opportunity to take final Junior Cycle examinations in autumn

1. A letter from Mr Nolan that was prepared in advance of the statement from the Minister of Education.
2. A copy of the Press Release.
We will conduct in-house assessments for our Third Year students beginning on Wed. 13th of May.
We will update you accordingly.

Thank you for your communications with us in relation to the messages you are receiving from teachers. Please use the "Parent Note" facility on this App to communicate with us. We are using this facility to direct your messages to your student's Year Head. The Year Heads will follow up with both teachers and yourselves.
Please do not email individual teachers as this initiative is being coordinated by our Year Heads. We are fearful that messages will get absorbed into other communication and lost in translation. I am sure you will appreciate that teachers are trying to focus fully on their classes.
