Accessing School Reports Update
Created : 01 Jul 2020, 10:24 AM
Archived : 31 Aug 2020, 12:00 AM
Dear Parent/Guardian, This notification is applicable to people that can access their Cloud School (Progresso) account successfully but is unable to view the actual Report. The difficulty is that you are using the mobile site instead of the desktop site. This is easily done, we are all new to this experience. The mobile version does not support the displaying of documents/reports. You will be able to use you phone to access the Reports by following the instructions attached - especially page two. You can also access your account on a computer through our school website using the Cloud School tab. I have also added the help sheet that will explain the actual Report. Kind regards, JP Cahillane

Congratulations to Emily Perris who was one of the winners of the Croí Laighean Credit Union Bursary last week . She receives a total of €6,000 towards her 3rd level education fees. There were six schools involved in the bursary with 3 finalists from each school selected and interviewed. There were 2 bursaries awarded and Emily was delighted to be one of the winners on the night. She plans to study science in Maynooth starting in September. Our other two finalists were Luke Hogkiss and Niamh Lawlor who received €250 each . A huge thanks to Croi Laighean Credit Union for this generous contribution. The presentation took place last Friday in the school and the cheque was presented by Martin Fitzgerald of Croi Laighean.

School Reports - Apologies for the delay in getting the School reports to you. The reports will be shared electronically with you. There is additional unforeseen background work to enable this to happen. This work is almost complete and it is hoped that you will have the reports at the end of this week. Instructions on how to access the reports will be shared on this App. Books - There is a substantial amount of uncollected books from lockers in the school. These are mostly 2nd year books. Please check with your students(s) if they had books in their locker but was unable to collect them last week. Please contact the school office to make arrangements to collect these books. Unfortunately, we do not have the facility to store these books in the school. Study levels & Books - Your students may not yet have been informed of the level they may be studying a subject at next year - in this event please wait until your student returns to school before purchasing books. This applies to 2nd year and to 5th year if there are different books for each level. Secondhand Book Sale - We hope to have a book sale of existing books from our bookshop in late July or August. We are not in a position to take in books from students for this sale at this time. Students are encouraged to organise the selling/buying of books themselves. Book Rental for 1st Years - Please contact the school office between 9.30 and 12.30 for information.

Dear Sixth year students, I hope you are all well. After a very unusual year for us all - the CAO change of mind will close on July 1st. PLEASE CHECK YOUR CAO LIST THIS WEEK AND BE SURE THAT YOUR CHOICES ARE WHAT YOU WANT, ARE IN ORDER AND ARE LISTED BY PREFERENCE. Perhaps have aspirational course choices followed by realistic choices followed by back up choices. - This way all bases are covered. Do not forget your Level 6/7 list also- give this the same care as your Level 8 list as this may be a vital back up route to college for you. MANY COLLEGES ARE OFFERING LAST MINUTE QUESTION AND INFORMATION SESSIONS THIS WEEK TO HELP WITH FINAL DECISION MAKING. Below is a list of some of them. If a college you are interested in is not listed - go to that college website and there will be an opportunity to have your queries dealt with. Also do not forget the PLC route - you can still apply for PLC courses directly on line to each PLC college - again this might be a vital back up route for you so do explore it. Apprentices will be listed on www.apprenticeship.ie - keep checking this site as it is updated constantly. If you have any last minute questions just e-mail us. We wish each of you the very best and hope that you get to where you wish to go. Do let us know in September which direction you are going. Take care and stay well. We were asked to share this email from the State Examinations Commission with you; Dear Principal Further to our email of June 2nd regarding the Examination Fee refund, the State Examinations would like to confirm that the refunds refer to the State Examination fee only. Candidates who submitted a medical Card or did not pay any fee to the State Examinations Commission are not due a refund. All refunds have been processed and the majority of have been received by the cardholder. However, a small number of banks may still be processing the refunds into cardholder’s accounts. There may be confusion regarding fees paid in respect of the Mock Exams which are organised by individual schools. The State Examinations Commission has no role or responsibility in relation to the Mock Examinations or the fees charged which are organised by individual schools. I would be grateful if this information could be brought to the attention of Candidates/Parents/Guardians and I want to thank you for your co-operation and support. If candidates have not received the refund by June 10th , they should email us at fees@examinations.ie with their exam number.
