Engineers of Tomorrow

Some TY Students recently took part in an Electronics and Coding Workshop in TU Dublin, where each student made their own computer game. They learned the intricate task, of wiring a circuit board and inserting electronic components in the correct positions. They were then shown how to modify one of the games characters, from a drawing they did themselves. A big thank you to Ian, Frank and Ana from TU Dublin, for organising and delivering the workshop.
TY Law Students of the Future

TY Students finished their Law Classes last week, with a Mock Trial in Trinity and a visit to the Law Courts, to follow in the new year. A big thank to Alya and the mentors from Trinity for delivering the Trinity Outreach Law Programme and to Alan and Emily from the Irish Law Society, for engaging our students with their TY Street Law Programme. Some very strong interest in the class, from some future Solicitors and Barristers, in this area.

Dear parents/guardians, today is our final day of the Christmas Assessments. Well done to all the students who put in a great effort for their exams. Reports will go out very early in the new year. Mount Carmel Christmas Jumper Day

Hi Folks. On December 19th , Mount Carmel is having a Christmas Jumper Day, in support of Focus Ireland (Focus Ireland is an organisation that provides services for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness). We are asking all staff and students to wear a Christmas Jumper, if they have one, and to donate €1 on the day, if possible. TY Mini-Company Class visit Invesco

This week TY Mini-company class visited Invesco, a global asset management firm. The students were invited to their offices, so they could learn about life in an office environment, career development, and the financial/funds services industry. Students heard from three female speakers from different backgrounds, who discussed their own career journeys with the students. Informal chats afterwards over lunch, with the Invesco staff, also proved a very worthwhile experience. A big thank you to Ms Judge who accompanied the students on the trip and to Jiang Zhaodi from Invesco, for organising it.
