Our U14 lost to Loreto Foxrock in the semifinal of Dublin school league and finished the season with this great result. Well done to Courtney, Madison, Aleksandra, Ava and Nandin for representing Mount Carmel the best way possible!

Over the course of three Fridays in January, a group of Mount Carmel TY students took part in 'Legal Fridays' - a tailored programme which was structured around developing communication techniques, learning from industry mentors and building employable, career building skills all woven into a legal theme. A big thank you to A&L Goodbody, for hosting the event and to Susan HayesCulleton (co-founder of Savvy Teens), for delivering it.
Localise Youth Volunteering Climate Justice Graduation

Last Week, TY students attended a Localise Youth Volunteering Climate Justice Graduation. They received a Cert. for their Intergenerational Sustainability Fashion Show idea. The Fashion show will take place in the school on Thursday March 30th, where upcycled and recycled clothes, will be modelled by students, teachers and members of Friends of the Elderly. An exciting event to look forward to, for all involved.

European Parliament trip

20 5th years accompanied by Ms Collins & Ms Cassidy were invited over to visit the European Parliament in Brussels by MEP Clare Daly. On Monday we visited the Parlamentarium and Parliament. We were given a tour by Clare Daly & Mick Wallace and had an opportunity to find out about the role of an MEP. On Tuesday, we explored beautiful Brussels on foot & sampled its famous waffles. The trip was truly one to remember!

Saint Brigid of Kildare (Irish: Naomh Bríd; is one of Ireland's three national saints along with Patrick and Columba. St. Brigid's Day (Lá Fhéile Bríde) is celebrated on February 1st and it involves weaving Brigid's crosses. The St Brigid Cross has become the symbol of St. Brigid. Today, Wednesday 1st February 2023, is St. Brigid's Day and Monday 6th February is a Bank Holiday in Ireland. All schools are closed on Monday February 6th. St Brigid's Day signals the first day of Spring!
