Congrats to TY Treasa Class on completing their Localise Project

Congratulations to our TY students from Treasa class, for completing their Localise (& Gaisce) project, before Christmas. This project involved putting together 'pamper' hampers, for new mothers, who were present in the Intensive Care Unit of Rotunda's Maternity Hospital, at Christmas time. We would also like to say a big thank you to Seán and Derek from Localise and their teacher Mr Daly, for helping and guiding the students with the project.

Niall De Burca Library Visit

First and second year students were treated to a visit from Niall De Burca yesterday, a scéalaí or traditional storyteller from the west of Ireland. A big thank you to our librarians and Ms McGowan who organised the event as part of our JCSP storytelling initiative.

TY/ TU Dublin Horticulture Workshop with a Christmas Theme

A big thanks to TU Dublin Engagement Outreach Department, for organising before Christmas, a horticulture workshop for some of our transition year students. Great opportunity, where they put together a seasonal planter bowl with winter flowering primroses and make a winter wreath, getting all involved in a pre-Christmas festive mood. Students also learned about the horticulture industry.

The competition was fierce but the results are in.... in first place 6th year Grainne class in E3 and a very close runner up with 3rd year Aoife class in G7!!

Today, Christmas Jumper Day supports Jigsaw, an organisation dedicated to valuing and supporting the mental health of every young person.
