TY Christmas Markets

Reminder that the TY Christmas Markets are on tomorrow. If students would like to buy home made products all support would be welcome! There will be bookmarks, pizzas, sweets, cookie trays and hot chocolate. Prices range from €0.50c to €2.50! #happinessweek
TY Violin Performance in the Ilac Libary

This week TY students completed their violin classes in the Ilac Libary, with a performance of some popular and festive songs. A big thank you to their music teacher Lucy and also to Susan and Mairead from the Ilac Music Library, for organising the event. The Library would like to ask everyone to be aware that, they are very welcome to pay it a visit and encourages all, to make use of its excellent resources and facilities.
EIRSAT-1 Showcase Event

Two JCSP competition winners along with our Librarian Siobhan were invited to attend a showcase event for the EIRSAT-1 Satellite in UCD today. EIRSAT-1 is Irelands first satellite and is on track for launch in 2023 from Europes spaceport.
Day 2: Happiness Week

Today's theme is happiness day! Students will be asked to write out happiness quotes to share with classmates. Ms Murtagh will launch Shining a Torch for Pieta House. All TY, 5th & 6th year students will attend an event in the hall. €2 will be collected for Pieta House. The Running Club have their festive run at 1pm and LCA will enjoy creating Christmas cupcakes & cookies washed down with Hot chocolate.

It's finally here, our biggest Well-being event on our calendar: Happiness Week! This week is jammed packed with surprises and organised events to spread happiness and friendship throughout our school community. Don't forget to watch out for the principal's random act of kindness!!! We hope you all enjoy the schedule planned. Day 1 is feeling festive. Our 'Holiday Hallway' competition is on today. May the best hallway win! The Home Economics Department have organised Sugar Craft classes and don't forget The Green Schools Raffle! Enjoy.
Green Schools Raffle tomorrow 13th December!

Tomorrow the Green Schools committee will be raffling off some amazing prizes to raise funds for Tank Banks for our toilets, which will help us save water in our school. The first prize will be a Soap and Glory set worth 100 euro, second prize will be a chocolate hamper with three large boxes of chocolates, and our third prize will be a wellbeing hamper with body wash, books and selection boxes. See picture below. Tickets will be 1 euro per ticket or two euro for three and you can buy them at the table on the ground floor during breaks tomorrow. Water is a precious resource, about 75% of indoor home water use occurs in our bathrooms, and toilets are the single largest water users. Toilets use over 40% more water than needed!
Last Badminton match for U16 C team

Our U16 C Team played their last match against Bremore ETSS Balbriggan. With one win they didn't qualify for the knock out stage, but represented Mount Carmel very well!
