Some of our TY students spend last week on work placement, with the Department of Taoiseach and Tanaiste, at Government offices. The students really enjoyed the experience and got a valuable insight into 'behind the scenes' workings, of both the Taoiseach and Tanaiste's departments. A big thank you to Carol Kearney from the Taoiseach's Office and to Olive Ojo from NEIC, for organising the placements. @NEIC_Dublin

Well done to everyone who dressed up as book characters for our World Book Day celebrations. Winners were Elizabeth, Alexandra, Nicole & Celina, Zuzanna, Megan,
and Asmaa as characters from Coraline, Winnie the Pooh, The Adams Family, Bratz, Demon Slayer and The Blame Game.
We had lots of fantastic entries from staff too but the winner was Mr Gunning as Lupin.
Each winner received a €15 One4All voucher.
As well as the Author visit, we also did a whole school D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) where every class in the school put down what they had been doing and read for 20 minutes.
Two lucky 1st year classes went on a visit to our local bookshop, Chapters, to pick a free World Book Day book for themselves. On Friday a couple of librarians from The Central Library will come to visit all the 1st Years to let them know the benefits of joining the public library and how to avail of all the free services that they offer

Wonderful author visit in our school library from Adiba Jaigirdar. She talked to students about each of her books and how she started writing her path to publication. We learned about literary
agents, critique partners, beta readers and the importance of marketing as well as answering a lot of questions. Adiba also brought along lots of bookmarks, prints and bookplates which she was happy to sign.
