Guide Dog Visit
Earlier this week, 6th Years enjoyed a very special visit from Jade McCormack with her guide dog, Winter. Jade shared her story and students had the opportunity to ask lots of questions. Winter is the 1000th guide dog to have been placed in Ireland by Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind.
2nd Year Trip
2nd Years visited the Sports Ireland Campus today. They had fun learning about the various facilities.

Bank of Ireland Money Smarts
Leinster Rugby players Ryan Baird and James Lowe visited OLS today to present a group of 5th Year students with the Money Smarts Quiz Trophy. The team consisted of Ciara O’Loughran, Kathryn King, Rachel Davis and Matilda Murray. They competed in the quiz on April 16th and came first winning €3,000 for the school! Leo the Lion (Leinster Rugby mascot) and representatives from Bank of Ireland were also in attendance. Check out the photo gallery! Congratulations, girls! What a great achievement and exciting day for the school.
Ty Work Experience

SciFest Competition
Huge to congrats to all who made it to the final of SciFest at TUDublin. A special congrats to our special category winners. Well done girls, we are hugely proud of your achievements!
TY College Careers Open Day
On Thursday the 2nd May, the TY students attended Trinity College Dublin and National College of Ireland in order to assist them with their career planning and research. The students attended presentations in both colleges, learning about the available courses and student life. The students also got a campus tour of each of the colleges given by student ambassadors. Many thanks to Ms Porter for organising and to the school liaison team in both TCD and NCI for facilitating the trip.
Minor Camogie Final
Congratulations again to our Minor Camogie team who are Dublin A Champions for a second year running! The girls won Thursday by a scoreline of 2-7 to 0-5 against their rivals Dominican College.
Work Experience

Spirit Day
Students had fun participating in the first OLS Spirit Day on Tuesday! Students worked together in their houses to make their way through 10 stations. Each station featured a different activity (tug of war, tube ball, build a bridge. hook a duck, hoop and noodle relay, BBall shoot out, and beat the intro). It was wonderful to see such high spirits! Talent Show
There was lots of excitement, clapping and whistling during the Talent Show this afternoon. Students sang, played piano, danced, and read poetry. The teachers even put on a performance. Well done to the girls who organized it and thank you to everyone who supported. All money raised will help support the school the TYs & 5th years are traveling to in Kenya.
TY Talk
Claire McGlynn came in from Unit 1 Training in Terenure to talk to the TY Group about nutrition, recovery, and fitness. Claire presented the information to the students while answering any questions that they had.
