  • Last week saw our Senior A side play St Raphaelas away in the quarter final of the senior trophy competition. Raphaelas were a side who narrowly beat us earlier in the season but the girls have been training hard all year and felt confident that they could get the result they needed to get to the semi finals. A strong all round performance saw us keep a clean sheet and a brilliant opening goal in the first half was followed up with three super short corner conversions in the second and we finished up winning by four goals to nil. Well done girls, a performance and result to be proud of. We will now play Newpark in the semi final on Monday 4th March in OLS at 4pm for a place in the final!
  • A pivotal week in hockey for a couple of our teams who were set to play their league semi finals after a tough year of league matches saw them into the knockout stages. The Junior A were first up on Wednesday when they travelled to Naas to play against St Mary's. St Mary's had won their section and were coming into the match with the favourites tag attached. In torrential conditions, the girls began slowly but gradually grew into the game and as the half drew to a close we won a short corner after some excellent build up play. A fantastic routine found the backboard and the half time whistle sounded to put us 1-0 in front. St Mary's came out fighting in the second half to try and draw level. Brilliant defending from the entire team saw us remain ahead as we entered the final few minutes of the game. Some fantastic skill on the right hand side saw us break into the circle where Ella Meade finished with a brilliant touch to put us 2-0 up with a minute to play. The girls held out for the last push from St Mary's and as a result, the 2-0 win puts us into the final of the Junior 1A league where we will face off against a team we know well, Newpark, next Tuesday morning in Three Rock Rovers hockey club at 10am! Well done girls, we are all very proud of you and look forward to the final next Tuesday!
  • Next up were the super Minor A team who have played some brilliant hockey all year and went the whole league campaign unbeaten without conceding a goal. They were up against St Columbas college in the semi final on Thursday after school. Early nerves were killed when we went 2-0 up in the first 15 minutes. St Columbas came back into the game but some resolute defending kept rhem at bay and two further goals so the girls run out 4-0 winners in the end! A deserved result for a great performance and the girls will now play the final next Friday, 8th March, at 11am in Three Rock Rovers against either Loreto Bray or Loreto on the Green. Congratulations girls, we are all incredibly proud of your hard work to get to this point!
  • Next week will see the school in two finals and another semi final which is fantastic and just reward for all of the hard work that the girls have put in this year. We would love to see as many supporters out as possible to cheer us on as we aim to win our first silverware of the season. The schedule of play is as follows:
  • Monday 4th March
  • Senior A -v- ,Newpark, at home in OLS at 4pm, Semi Final of the Leinster Senior Trophy

  • The first year leagues were the focus of the week this week with 6 league games scheduled.
  • On Tuesday the second and third teams took on Muckross Park at home in Our Lady's. The second team started off with a great 3-1 win even after going behind early in the game. Unfortunately the third team did not have as much luck and found themselves up against a strong Muckross team who scored four goals unanswered. Both teams played some super hockey and will take that into the remainder of the season.
  • The third team were back in action again on Wednesday when they welcomed Loreto Foxrock to Our Lady's. The girls were keen to bounce back after their loss on Tuesday and despite going one nil down early in the match, they stuck to their game plan and worked extremely hard throughout the game and rightfully came out on top after two great goals to win it and take all 3 points. Well done girls, a super team effort!
  • On Friday the First year A team had a hard fought draw with Alexandra College. The girls played some brilliant hockey and were unlucky to not get all three points.
  • On Saturday morning, the second and third first year teams are in action again, this time away to Sion Hill. Saturday morning also sees the Senior A team play the Trophy quarter final against St Raphaelas away. Good luck girls!
  • Next week sees the Junior A team play St Mary's Naas away in the semi final of the league on Wednesday at 2.30pm. Thursday sees the Minor A play St Columbas at home in OLS, with the game tipping off at 4.15pm. Good luck girls!
