Ms Kinsella and the 6th Year form teachers are ready to welcome all of 6th Year on Monday morning at 9am! A few little reminders for your first day back: There is a new temporary pedestrian entrance near the bus stop on Templeogue Road. You need to wear a face covering when you come in to school. Bring a sanitiser in a zip lock bag (there is sanitiser in every room in school but it's always good to have a personal supply!). Bring a snack & bottle of water for a break (no shared taps currently). Students: Check your email later, Ms K has left you a message about entrances & rooms you are to use. Parents: Ms K has a little message for you too: youtu.be/d1xkZElib10

Today marked a much anticipated occasion in OLS ... after a very long absence, we had a very welcome infusion of youth, energy and laughter in the form of our oldest and youngest students! First of all today, Ms Kinsella and Ms O' Sullivan welcomed the 6th Year leaders for leadership training, who in turn later welcomed the incoming 1st Years for a tour around the school. The 6th Years answered many questions about life in OLS and did their best to give our 1st Years a little flavour of what it's like here. Our students rose to the new Covid challenges superbly, arriving on time and as requested in terms of accessing the building, with masks and social distancing as directed. Well done to all! Staff will be busy planning over the coming days for the return of the full student body next week!

We have an eager troop of 6th Year leaders ready to meet the 1st Years at their designated slot tomorrow for a tour of the school and some Q & As about life at OLS. This will give our incoming students a chance to see how the building is set up for them to start school next week. 1st Years don't need to wear their uniform tomorrow as it is a short visit. Students must wear a mask. When you arrive, use the pedestrian entrance down by the bus stop on Templeogue Road (new entrance to facilitate building at usual entrance), walk up the path and you will be met there at the first building on your left (the Sports Hall) by friendly 6th Years who will tell you exactly what to do next! You will need to put your mask on before you enter the Sports Hall so have it ready in a zip lock bag in your pocket. Bring a pen to sign in and have a hand sanitiser (also supplied in school but best to have a personal supply too). Time slots: 12:00 - 12:30 Students with surnames beginning with A-B 12:20 - 12:50 Students with surnames beginning with C-E 12:40 -13:10 Students with surnames beginning with F-L 13:00 - 13:30 Students with surnames beginning with M-O 13:20 - 13:50 Students with surnames beginning with P-Z

We look forward to welcoming our 6th Year leadership team in tomorrow for training at 9am! Don't forget to wear your uniform (green jumpers at last!) so you're looking sharp for the 1st Years later on! When you arrive, use the pedestrian entrance down by the bus stop (new entrance to facilitate building at usual entrance), walk across to St Joseph's Hall. Bring your own sanitiser (also supplied in school but best to have a personal supply too), paper, pen, lunch and water (no taps remember!). Masks need to be on when you come in to sit down and Ms Kinsella will take it from there! See you then!

Invitation to Incoming First Years
Created : 20 Aug 2020, 4:36 PM
Archived : 20 Oct 2020, 12:00 AM
On Wednesday next, 26th September, we would like to invite our incoming 1st Years to visit the school for a short tour in advance of their official return. The students will be greeted by a member of the 6th Year leadership team who will take them on a short, socially distant tour around the campus so that they can have an opportunity to become that little bit more familiar with OLS and perhaps ask a few questions about their transition to secondary school. In order to ensure a safe environment we are scheduling the students' visit and we would ask that this is strictly observed (please see below). The tour will be for 30 minutes in total. Students must wear a face mask/covering, hand sanitise at the appropriate entrance, observe respiratory etiquette and ensure they socially distance. No uniforms are required. We encourage our students to begin the year with good habits. We would ask that, as best they can, they walk to the school and enter via the new gateway. Where this is not possible parents can drop their daughter off at the outer carpark and continue on towards the exit. Parents will not be permitted to leave their cars under any circumstance and can be assured the girls will be well looked after for their short visit! We very much look forward to seeing our new 1st Years on Wednesday! 12:00 - 12:30 Students with surnames beginning with A-B 12:20 - 12:50 Students with surnames beginning with C-E 12:40 -13:10 Students with surnames beginning with F-L 13:00 - 13:30 Students with surnames beginning with M-O 13:20 - 13:50 Students with surnames beginning with P-Z
