Well done to the 25 students involved in the PEATA project on Thursday. Ms. O'Brien was delighted to see so many familiar faces and is excited to work with all of the students. Reminder that expressions of interest are due by 6pm this evening. Well done to our Sports Leadership & Active Flags class who ran a successful event for our first years on Tuesday. It is great to see so many of the students promoting sport in a safe way so that people can still partake regardless of the current global situation. Also well done to our Journalism class, Ms. Hayes helped them to organise the most efficient class photos for the entire school that I've ever seen. Please see some notices below for the week ahead. 1. Work experience - If your daughters work experience has changed since she submitted her google form, she must email Ms. Philllips with the updated information, whether it is a work experience that is no longer happening, or one that was awaiting confirmation. 2. There are 4 permission slips on the app. these are for excursions, parental permission if partaking in Gaisce, if you daughter is in Art or Junk Koture there is one about eing involved in the Art Department Instagram account, and finally there is a Musical contract if your daughter is taking part in the musical. Please ensure you submit all permissions which relate to your daughter. 3. Next Thursday your daughter's Science classes will be rotating. She has been told in class by her teacher and also on the google classroom where she will be moving to . She must have checked where she is going and be in the correct class next Thursday. 4. Next week is study skill week. This will be discussed in your daughters Pastoral Care and subject classes on how to best prepare for both her December and May exams, as well as how to best plan her time effectively for in class assessment. 5. Next Saturday is World Mental Health Day. In order to highlight the importance of positive attitudes, resilience and being well, St. Patricks Mental Health in conjunction with RTÉ are running a series of Podcasts. On Wednesday (technology dependent) we will be tuning live into Teenage mental health: Stress, stigma & coping strategies during class. In this podcast, RTÉ’s Jan Ní Fhlanagáin talks to young people about what kinds of things happening in their own lives and the world around them can impact on their mental health, with more insights on adolescent mental health coming from Aaron Swift of St Patrick’s Mental Health Services. Monday the 12th we will be tuning into a podcast that will have been prerecorded by RTÉ 2fm’s Eoghan McDermott and Professor Paul Fearon, Medical Director at St Patrick's Mental Health Services. This will be based on the biological factors that contribute to our mental health and wellbeing under the microscope. More information about World Mental Health Day and other podcasts which will be running after school time is available on: www.walkinmyshoes.ie/campaigns/wimslive/schedule
