Thanks to our TY parents and guardians for a superb turnout at last evening's virtual presentation regarding subject choice for 5th Year. A copy of the presentation is attached, along with the previously shared Subject Choice Booklet. What's next? Next week your daughter will hear some more specific detail on each subject from the subject coordinators. The deadline for subject choice (to be completed on VSWare - instructions in letter previously posted - pics below) is Thursday 11th March 2021. If you are interested in hearing more about the Leaving Certificate Applied programme for your daughter, please email principal@olschool.ie before Friday. Please discuss the range of subjects on offer with your daughter to encourage her to really examine the options and what would suit her best. Many thanks

1st Year Parent-Teacher Meeting

Dear 1st Year Parents/Guardians, The 1st Year parent-teacher meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, cannot go ahead as planned due to public health guidelines. Instead, teachers will be preparing a learning review for each student in each subject area and this will be published on VSware later this week for you to view. An app notification will alert you when the learning reviews are published. The review will identify areas of success in your daughter's learning journey to date and steps that she can work on in the coming term to progress her learning. We suggest that you take some time to discuss the review with your daughter to help her to identify key areas of focus for this term based on teachers' feedback. Many thanks.

B house Celebration

This week, the B House celebrate the Feast Day of their Patron Saint, St. Bridget. During pastoral care students in the B House will watch a ceremony created by B6 entitled "Fall down seven times, stand up eight". Well done to everyone in the House for participating.

It's ok not to be ok...by B6 for 'Walk in my Shoes' Film Competition

The B6s created a short video, 'It's ok not to be ok', for a film competition run by St Patrick's Mental Health Services, Walk in my Shoes. Their video has been shortlisted in the Frame of Mind Secondary School Short Film Category. There will be an awards ceremony to showcase shortlisted entries and announce the winners. The video will be released on Wednesday 24th February. Well done to B6 and good luck in the final stage!
