A massive good luck to Joy Ralph, TY1, who will be representing Ireland on the U17 Soccer team in two friendlies v Portugal from today Thursday the 16th to Thursday the 23rd. She has the support of the whole school community behind her.

Today our 5th Years had their turn of the Study Skills Seminar. They all found it very interesting and learned valuable lessons on how to study which will help them as they go forward in their education.

Sixth Year Academic Mentoring

Sixth Year Academic Mentoring has now kicked off for the new school year. This is a programme being made available to sixth year students in OLS. Mentoring teachers provide an extra layer of support, in addition to the Form Teacher, Year Head and Guidance team. Areas of focus include study skills, time management, promoting well-being and life skills. All Sixth Year students will be assigned an Academic Mentor, a teacher who will guide and support them to reach their full potential. We encourage all Sixth Year students to make the most of this fantastic opportunity!
Camogie Training

Camogie training will be starting next Monday for Seniors and Juniors. Seniors will consist of 6th year, 5th year and some TY students. Junior will consist of TY and 3rd year students. U-14 Camogie will be starting later in the year. There will be a meeting in the GPA on Thursday at Break Time for all Senior and Junior students interested. The meeting will move to outside the prefabs if numbers are not Covid compliant.
National Bike Week

This week is National Bike Week which kicked off on Sunday September 12th and ends on Saturday September 18th. We want to encourage all our students to cycle to school where possible, well done to all those who already have. It's great to see our new bike rack being used by students.

Hi Everyone, We hope you really enjoyed the first day of Friendship Week. It was great to see so many people out for the Buddy Walk ! Our Friendship PostCards in aid of Pieta House will be on sale again at lunch time Thursday and Friday. We hope to see you there and a big thank you to our TY Friendship Team for giving up their time to sell these.

Today our 6th Years had their study skills seminar, it was very informative and worthwhile, students learned the importance of knowing how to study and what works for them. These skills will be put to good use as the Leaving Cert approaches.
