Christmas Raffle

We will be running our Christmas Raffle again this year to raise funds for the school. Last year, students and staff did an extraordinary job of selling tickets which generated over €10,000. On Friday you would have received your booklet of tickets to sell for the Christmas Raffle, We really need everyone to try their best to sell as many tickets as possible. There will be prizes for the best sellers and House Points for the best House Sellers - so make sure you give it your best shot. If you run out of tickets then come back to reception to get another booklet and another and another! 12 Luxury hampers will be up for grabs with the raffle taking place on Wednesday the 22nd of December.

TY Update & What’s On Next Week

The start of this week brought back some memories of the time we have spent at home over the last twenty one months. However, this time around it was a little more refreshing for our TY’s who had the opportunity to reflect on their TY experience to date. They took time to explore the endless opportunities and programmes that are available to them and make sure there is nothing they have missed out on. They also began to think about their next work experience blocks that will be coming up in the new year. With assessments on the horizon, TYs’ Christmas spirits are still in full flow. Hoping to deck the halls with baubles and snowmen next Monday, our TY elves were busy in their creative workshops today. It was fantastic to see our newly formed TY classes still represent their Houses, B, C, L and P in their activities. Next week will see our TY students tackle their first set of TY Assessments. These will run from Wednesday 15th to Friday 17th December. The timetable is available for students on their TY Google Classroom. A gentle reminder: the Advanced Barista Course is now open for payment. We are looking forward to running this day-long qualification course in the new year. If you unfortunately missed our fantastic TY Rep’s snapshot of their year to date, do make sure to grab that cuppa, put your feet up and appreciate how much your child has experienced already this year. 12 Gifts of Christmas Raffle On Sale Today

We are delighted to announce that our 12 Gifts of Christmas Raffle tickets are on sale today. Each student received a booklet of 5 tickets today with the aim of selling as many as they can to raise much needed funds to replace our classroom projectors. Thanks to the generosity of families and local businesses, we have 12 amazing hampers being readied by our team of elves. It's still not too late to donate a gift to add that little extra to our prize hampers. There will be an additional prize draw for our top sellers and of course, as with everything in OLS, there will be a competitive inter-House points giveaway to the Houses that sell the most. Families can also buy extra booklets on our Easi-Payments tab located on our website. Remember, if you're not in, you can't win!
Gingerbread House Decorating

Yesterday in the library we decorated Christmas gingerbread houses. It was fantastic to see all the students show off their creative side, there were some amazing houses! Make sure to look through the gallery to see the girls in action!

The Department of Education has advised that schools throughout the country will open tomorrow as usual. The Department would like to thank school communities, staff, students and parents, as well as the emergency services for their support during Storm Barra.
