Autism Acceptance Week Coffee Morning

The students of our Autism classes were delighted to welcome parents and grandparents this morning for a coffee morning in Room 26 in honour of autism acceptance week. 

It was great to have the opportunity to meet family members and share some delicious treats! 

Special thanks to TY prefects Darragh Taaffe and Ailbhe Vanhengel for their help on the day.

A reminder that the last clothing collection fundraiser is happening this Saturday, April 13th between 10am - 4pm.

You can drop your bags to the bike shelter at the top of the avenue, right in front of the school entrance. Thank you to everyone who has supported the PA initiatives so far this year.
CPC student Jamie Jacob becomes two time National Boxing Champion

First year CPC student Jamie Jacob became a two time National Boxing Champion last weekend, at Boy 2-62 kilos. 

Well done Jamie. A great achievement for him and a great reward for the dedication he has shown for the last few months.

Students of 1E put Frankenstein "on trial" in class this morning. They worked together in groups and members of both the prosecution and defence had an opportunity to probe Dr. Victor Frankenstein (a role in which was played brilliantly by Aidan Fitzgerald) about his actions in the play. 

Well done to all involved - it was wonderful to see you all communicate and work effectively!
Debutantes Cabaret show tickets go on sale next week!

Our TY students are delighted to present their show Debutantes Cabaret on 30th April and 1st May in our Assembly Hall at 7.30pm. If you enjoy a great story, fabulous dancing and music, then this show is not to be missed!!! Tickets are 10 euros each.
South Leinster Track and Field

150km for Autism Acceptance Month!

Mr Mann, Ms Mulligan and Mr Blanchfield are attempting to run 5km a day or 150km in the month of April to mark Autism Acceptance Month. 

Our chosen charity in CPC for the month is Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland which is a fantastic resource for autistic people all around the country. AADI have set a target of raising €100,000 throughout the month of April. If you would like to donate to this great cause please follow the link below: 

Kilcullen First Responders

An open night for the Kilcullen Community First Responders will be held on the 11th April at 8pm in the Kilcullen Town Hall.

Jeremy Burke modern music bursary

Jeremy Burke modern music bursary.

In memory of musician Jeremy Burke who sadly died on 22 January 2023, at the young age of 27. 

Jeremy, through many years, was instrumental in the following bands: Ghost Notes, Fool the Joker, Overlockers, Stone Sea and more recently,  different bands on the Toronto Music Scene. Jeremy was a songwriter and musician from a very young age and honed his talent every day. A selection of Jeremy’s work is available on utube, SoundCloud and Jeremy’s Facebook page.

Jeremy’s family wish to establish a wonderful new opportunity for young CPC musicians. 

Students in 5th or 6th year music class have the opportunity to apply for this new bursary.
The opportunity is only open to students who play modern music in the popular genre.

The bursary may be used in a number of ways: ex,  to purchase equipment, pay for tuition or towards 3rd level expenses.

The €1,500 bursary will be awarded on May 1st by Jeremy’s family.

Letter of application expressing why you might be eligible to receive this bursary must be sent by email to 
before 6pm on Monday 23rd April.
No late applications will be considered. 

In your application express your interest in contemporary popular music and any further plans you may have to develop your talent (ex lessons, intention to apply to 3rd level education to study modern music etc). 
You should also submit a video recording link with your application. 
No more than a 3 minute sample of your playing/singing.

All applications must be accompanied by a signed parental consent.
