Congratulations and well done to our 5th year Leaving Cert Applied class and their teacher Ms Murphy for organising a successful Art Exhibition of their self portraits today.

Students have spent a number of weeks creating Julian Opie style portraits of themselves based on the theme of Individuality and Identity.

It was great to see so many family members of the students and their teachers attend this wonderful event.

Those in attendance enjoyed the art on display as well as some lovely refreshments prepared by the students.

Fantastic work.

We are very proud of all of you!

1st year choice subjects
Created : 29 Nov 2024, 3:45 PM
Archived : 29 Jan 2025, 12:00 AM

Dear parents/guardians,

1st year students received their subject options this afternoon.

You will appreciate that with over 140 students and 7 subjects, it is a logistical challenge to try to accommodate the preferences of the students. Invariably some subjects will be oversubscribed and we are limited by the class capacity numbers as well as physical and human resources.

We have worked extremely hard to try to get the best outcome for all students. I am delighted to say that every student has been given one of their top two choices. No student is being asked to study their 6th or 7th choice.

Most students will be happy with the outcome but there could be some who would like to be added to a waiting list should a place become available in a particular subject. If this is the case please send an email to 1styearoptions@cpckilcullen.com

Please only use the email address above and please note that I will only contact you if a change becomes possible i.e. if somebody opts to leave one of the full classes.

For anybody who was absent today, parents will be able to view the updated timetable through VsWare before Tuesday.

I wish all of our students continued success in their studies.

Kind regards

J Leonard

Fabulous Lunch in Fallons
Created : 27 Nov 2024, 8:04 PM
Archived : 27 Jan 2025, 12:00 AM

Both our 5th and 6th year Leaving Cert Applied classes enjoyed a lovely lunch in Fallon's last week.

Students enjoyed three choices of main course followed by a lovely dessert.

They were then given a tour of the kitchen and an insight into the running of a busy restaurant.

Our LCA classes study the Hotel, Catering and Tourism Industry with their teacher Ms Mairead O Malley. This opportunity gave them a unique insight into the food service industry.

We were also delighted to gather together to celebrate the fantastic results our 6th year students received recently.

SNA's Amy Mulligan and Paula O Connor also joined us for this lovely lunch and we are always very thankful for their continued dedication to and support of our students.

A lovely time was had by all!
