St Declan's College would like to extend every good wish to Alan Brogan who has just announced his retirement from Inter-county football. Having played at minor, U21 and Senior level he has been a loyal servant to Dublin winning every honour the game has to offer. His brillance was recognised in 2011 when he was awarded Player of the year. This year's All-Ireland win has capped off a great career and one that he can cherish together with his wife Lydia and sons Jamie and Harry.

St. Declan’s College 3rd Year students took part in a Social Awareness Program for their Action Project last week. The program was founded and presented by John Dooley, a prison officer in Mountjoy prison for over 30 years. Through a variety of activities (including statistics, inmates’ stories, question time and a Mock Trial), John was able to communicate the realities of prison life to the students in an engaging and conscientious manner. The Program was certainly an eye opening and excellent educational experience for the students on the impact of prisons and prison life in society.
