A reminder to all 6th year students that a deposit for the 2016 Debs Ball is now required.
The deposit is €10.
Members of the Debs committee will be in the Library during the mid-morning break (10.45-11.00) to collect deposits. All deposits are due by Wednesday 4th November.
Rachel Allen Cookery Demonstration

Tickets are now on sale for the Rachel Allen cookery demonstration (Friday 20 November). Price per ticket is €25.
The tickets would make an ideal early Christmas gift.
Tickets are available from the school reception or through members of the Parents' Council.
Parents' Council Meeting

A meeting of the Parents' Council will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, at 8.00pm. All parents are invited to attend. Tickets for the Rachel Allen cookery demonstration will be on sale at the meeting.
Pierre Murchan Junior Dublin men's Cross Country Champion 2015

Pierre Murchan of DCD was a clear winner of the junior men’s 6000m at the Dublin Cross-Country Championships in Tymon Park yesterday. He finished in a time of 19.59 from a field of twenty four who completed the race. This was 22 seconds ahead of his nearest rival. It is fantastic to see Pierre go from strength to strength in his athletic pursuits.

Heartiest congratulations to Bernard Brogan who has been appointed Captain of the Irish International rules team for the upcoming series. It is a huge honour for Bernard and his family. We wish him and the Irish team every success.
The 2015 Eirgrid International Rules test takes place in Croke Park on 21st November and is preceeded by a shinty game between Ireland and Scotland. Throw in is at 7.00pm
St Declan's Debutants Ball 2016

The 2016 Debs has been provisionally booked for Thursday 1st September 2016 in Lakeside Manor Hotel, Virginia, Co. Cavan. We need a €10 deposit from each student.
Bookings for the number of tickets you require will be taken at a later date when we can provide an exact price per ticket. We will also sort a payment installment system for you to pay the balance.
But for now, all we ask is that you pay the €10 deposit by Wednesday 4th November (Wednesday after the mid-term). We will start collecting this on the Monday we return after the break.

We take this opportunity to extend a Happy Halloween to all our students, parents/guardians, and staff. Safe journey to all travelling to Paris on the school trip, we hope you have a very enjoyable time. Thank you to everyone for your support during the last couple of months.
U16 Hurling

Congratulations to the U16 hurling team who beat St Macdaras in the Dublin Colleges semi-final today. The final score was 4-11 to 3-06. Outstanding for St Declans's was Conor Carberry and Dáire Finn. We wish the team and their manager, Mr Teehan, every success in the final.
U19 Soccer

Congratulations to the U19 soccer team on their win against St Paul's Raheny. The final score was 3-0. Lee Partridge, Warren O'Hora and Sean Goulding were the scorers for St Declan's.
