Our TY students are on work placement this week, despite the cold weather!  Pictured here are Lorraine Dunleavy and Rachel Taylor who are both placed in Scoil Chroi Naofa in Bunninnaden.  Thank you to the school for accepting both students!

Our students along with Ms. McGrath and Ms. Kelly organised a food collection for the St. Vincent de Paul.  There were very generous donations made - huge thanks to all those who gave to the appeal.

We welcomed Maureen and Eithne from SVP today, Thursday 15th to meet with the students and receive the items donated.

Congratulations to Oisin (1st Year) who won our Green Schools: Green Code Competition! Oisin wrote his code on our Green Schools theme of Litter and Waste

'Come on everybody, let's make haste, We need to help pick up our waste! Come on, hurry, we're running out of time! Let's help our planet stay in its prime!'

On Friday 2nd December our TY students took part in #ThinkLanguages, a national event that promotes the benefits of learning languages. They took part in a variety of workshops including an introduction to sign language, drawing Chinese symbols and beginners Japanese.

Thank you to our student council for organising for the ISSU to come to our school to issue student ID cards.  Pictured are some of our Leaving Cert students collecting their cards!

Congratulations to Malachy Drew (6th year) on his sleep-out for the Shine-a-light campaign earlier this term. Malachy was presented with a certificate of achievement and fundraising of €620 through a non-uniform day in our school.

Thank you to Ballymote Garda and Family Resource Centre for inviting our choir and trad musicians to entertain local residents at the Coach House Hotel today.  Our choir and trad group sang and played to a full-house for an hour and completed their afternoon with 'Oh Holy Night' led by Garda Tara Lyons.  This was a wonderful day for the community which we were delighted to have the opportunity to be part of. Well done to all students involved and to Mr. O'Connor and Ms. Heaney McGreal who worked with the students in preparation.

Congratulations to Leaving Certificate 2022 past pupil Rebecca McGlone on her recent achievements with Mary Immaculate College, Limerick.  Rebecca is a first year student at MIC studying Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary and Applied Theatre Studies and was awarded an entrance scholarship by MIC for CAO students who have achieved the highest points in Leaving Certificate 2022.
