We present Lesley Ann Sweeney (3rd year) and congratulate her on her soccer achievements this year. Lesley Ann has been participating in trials for the past few weeks for the U-15 Girls Connacht Soccer team and her hard work has paid off with her now playing in centre mid-field for the Connacht team!
Lesley Ann and her team mates will play in a tournament this coming weekend in Dublin - we wish you the very best of luck Lesley Ann!
Heartiest congratulations to our Senior GAA Boys team who won the D final of the John Kent Sports Sligo/Leitrim Senior championship last evening in the Dome, Bekan. Colaiste Muire's score count of 1-23 surpassed Lough Allen's 2-07 to secure the cup. Well done to all students and staff involved!
Our Opening School mass took place in Ballymote Church on Thursday 27th October. What a wonderful celebration of our school and an uplifting end to what has been a long, busy and enjoyable term. Many thanks to Fr. James for celebrating our mass and having us in the church. Thanks to all involved in the preparations, reading, singing and music.
Our Home Ec students have been creating beautiful Halloween bakes this week! Hopefully, they will try them out at home and treat their families!

On Sunday evening, 23rd October at the Closing Gala Concert of City of Derry International Choir Festival - the Coláiste Muire School Choir were announced as the winners of the "Bishops Daly and Mehaffey Award for an outstanding performance in the school competitions". The award was presented by the Derry inner city trust. This was in addition to their Silver Award at the competitions on Friday. The choir performed Daniel, Servant of the Lord and a setting of the poem My Love is like a red red rose by Scottish poet Robbie Burns for an international panel of adjudicators at the Millenium Forum in Derry on Friday last. Congratulations to all involved, this is a wonderful achievement for our school choir, which has 71 students participating. Sincere thanks to Mr O'Connor and Ms Heaney-McGreal for their time and dedication to the choir over the past number of weeks.
Our TYs are enjoying their first excursion today learning to surf in Strandhill. Conditions look great for these surf novices!! Thanks to Strandhill Surf School for an enjoyable experience for our students!
