Fantastic day for HFC Athletics

Today HFC athletics, St Pauls athletics, and our local running club Raheny Shamrocks hosted an athletics race for 24 schools (around 500 students) in St Anne's Park. HFC athletics coaches Tom and Anne organized a brilliant event.

Great leadership was shown by Freya O'Carroll and Sophie Kelly who helped show the course to younger year groups and helped with warmups. 10 volunteer TY students helped with stewarding the race and at the finishing line. Thank you to Freya, Aoibheann, Laura, Niamh, Rachel, Emily, Dora, Dasha, Elise, and Angelika.

Results:
Senior girls (4th/5th yr): Sophie Kelly had a fantastic run to win the race, leading the team of Eileen, Sarah and Rachel to team gold.

Intermediate (3rd/2nd yr): The students put in a great performance to finish with 1st team. Well done to Ayanna O'Callaghan who finished 4th leading the team home.

Junior (1st/2nd yr):  Laoise Kirwan and Aoibheann O'Malley put in great runs to finish 2nd and 4th, bringing the team to 3rd overall.

Minor (1st year U14) all had a great race to finish 4th.
