1st Year Tag Rugby Blitz

After 8 weeks of Touch Rugby in PE class, all 1st Year students participated in a Leinster Rugby Touch Rugby Blitz today. It was a great opportunity for all the students to show what they had learned in class in a fun and competitive environment. There was some excellent games played with all students getting time on the pitch. It was a super day and the sun was shining on us.

Congratulations to 5th Year Student Hannah Healy who helped Shelbourne FC
Women’s Team win the FAI cup final, defeating Athlone Town 6-1.
Well done to all our students that represented Clontarf GAA Club U13s Football Team who won the Division 1 Cup defeating Kilmacud Crokes.
The Team 2 were Div. 6 Cup runners up to BBSE and Team 3 beat Raheny to win the Div. 11 Shield

Anxiety in Children and Young People - Webinars

As part of the development of the HELP Programme to support parents and teachers, Cycle Against Suicide with the academic Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, UCD will continues with their parallel psychoeducational outputs/webinars.
The focus of their current series is: ‘Understanding Anxiety in Children and Young People’.
Each 1 hour session – 7pm to 8pm incorporates content on the causes, symptoms and evidence-based approaches which support recovery.
- This coming Thursday, October 10th: Dr Aoife Gordon, Senior Registrar in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, will cover the topic of ‘Social Anxiety’.
- On Tuesday, November 5th, Prof Fiona McNicholas, Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist will cover ‘Understanding Post-traumatic Stress in Children and Teenagers’
- On Thursday, December 5th, Dr Michael Sweeney, Clinical Psychologist & Director of Metropolitan CBT, New York; Specialist in the treatment of Anxiety and Adjunct Professor Columbia University, ‘Explores Perfectionism and Obsessive Compulsive Characteristics’.
Athletics Cross Counry Race

Well done to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years who competed in the Clonliffe harriers Brother XC race. Special congratulations to the 3rd and 4th year team who got silver inter team medal. We are now looking forward to our home club Raheny Shamrocks race organized by coaches from St Paul's and Holy Faith Clontarf in November!

Caoimhe McCaul 5A was invited by the German Embassy to an event on 3rd October to celebrate 'Tag der Einheit' (German Unity Day). It was an opportunity for Caoimhe and German teacher Clodagh Mackle to meet Ambassador-Designate David Gill. Danke Caoimhe for representing the German Department of Holy Faith Clontarf!
