Construction Works - School Access Road - WORK UNDERWAY

The access road to our school is soon to be taken under Galway Council ownership.
In preparation for this, significant road works are now underway and will last for a period of three weeks. Therefore, the school access road will not be open to parents / guardians during that time.
This work will include resurfacing, line painting, the installation of new street lighting and other associated works.
The work will be acrried out between 9am and 5:30pm each day and there will be no vehicular access for drop offs / pick ups during this time.
The Council have indicated that extreme caution should be taken by all during this time and that traffic management will be put in place during work hours.
This work will be disruptive and require forward planning by everyone in our school community. Ultimately, once the work has been completed, it will lead to a safer and better environment for all.

Both teams really enjoyed it with one team coming third overall.

Irish Olympiad of Experimental Science

Well done to France Hardy, Margaret Nnadi, Alima Agboola, Murshida Choudhury and Melaniya Stolbova, who took part in Round 2 of the Irish Olympiad of Experimental Science in DCU on Saturday.
Congratulations especially to France Hardy who won silver and to Melaniya Stolbova who won bronze in Chemistry and Physics respectively.
They now progress to the next stage of the competition and we wish them well.
Junior Cycle -Staff Training Day - Closed to Students - 28th March

Notification of one day closure for students on Tuesday 28th March 2023.
The staff of Dominican College will have Junior Cycle training on the date listed above.
The school will be closed to all students on that day.
School will reopen as normal on Wednesday 29th March 2023.

Congratulations to Ranya Kaushik, Yasmin Hadri and Claire Leuridan-Slevin who did such a wonderful job in representing our school at the BTYS.
Each girl had very high quality individual projects and they very much enjoyed their time in Dublin.
Well done also to Ms. King, Ms. Carroll, Ms. Thornton and Ms. Carr who attended with the girls and helped them prepare their projects.

CAO Online Information Evening

An online CAO Information Evening for Students & Parents is taking place on Tuesday, 17 January at 6.30pm.
Registration is now open at www.cao.ie/webinar
Please note that spaces for the live online event are limited however, a recording will be available from noon on the 20th January at www.cao.ie/webinar for those who are unable to attend the live event.
The event will consist of a presentation on the CAO application process, advice on choosing courses, and supports for parents/guardians. There will also be a live Q&A with representatives of a number of the Higher Education Institutions.
5th Year Parent Teacher Meeting - Reminder

Our 5th Year Parent Teacher Meeting will take place on Tuesday 10th Jan. from 4:15pm to 6:45pm. in Rosary Hall.
Limited parking is available through both car park gates for this meeting. Pedestrian entry will be by the left gate and through the playground.
