Fifth years visit Entekra for engineering week.

Fifth year students visited Entekra on Wednesday last as part of engineering week. The staff at Entekra introduced the students to their FIOSS method of house construction for the American market and potential careers with the company. Our students toured the facility including the computer training centre with virtual reality headset as well as talking to engineers working on house designs.

Past Pupils Jim McArdle and Barry McArdle form Castleblayney have generously sponsored three vouchers each to the value of €200 to be raffled at the "Who Wants to be a Thousandaire" fundraising event to take place in the Four Seasons Hotel Monaghan this Thursday. That's a €200 voucher for Shoe City Castleblayney, a €200 voucher for Lloyd and Pryce products and a €200 voucher for XV Kings products. These and other valuable prizes like 8 chances to win €1000 are up for grabs at what promised to be a very enjoyable night on Thursday next. All Ireland Cross Country Success for Tom Doherty

The All Ireland Schools Cross Country finals took place today at Clongowes Wood College Co. Kildare. St. Macartan's College was represented in the minor boys final by Tom Doherty who is also a member of Phoenix AC Monaghan and Drumhowan GFC. Tom ran an incredibly brave race and finished in an excellent 6th place. Tom's run will be remembered as one of the best cross country runs to date in a Sem vest. Our very own Vera Duffy also received special mention today at Clongowes Wood as the winner of the inaugural All Ireland Senior Girls Cross Country title.
