Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

I hope you found last evening's subject options event a worthwhile use of your time and thank you for attending.  Please be reminded of the requirements for the next stage in your child's progression with us.  Please note that the deadline for entry of subject preferences for 5th year or an application for a place in TY is Friday 10th February 2023.  Please meet the deadline so that your child's options are included in timetabling and block generation.

Students progressing to TY 2023-24:

Please complete the application form before Friday 10th February 2023.

Students progressing to 5th year 2023-24:

1.Log-in to VSWare as you would if viewing school reports.
2.On the parent dashboard, click on the name of your child.
3.At the bottom of the next screen, click on 'Learn More' under the tab 'Student Options'.
4. In the first row of the table presented, place your child’s first subject preference; in the second row, their second subject preference and so on.
4.Please complete preferences up to six as it may not always be possible to guarantee the first four preferences for every child.
5.When complete, ‘Your Preferences have been saved’ will appear at the bottom of the screen.  You DO NOT need to click the Confirm button at the bottom of the screen as your preferences will be recorded automatically.
6.Log out by clicking ‘Sign out’ at the top right-hand side of the screen.
7.There is a helpful parents’ guide at https://support.vsware.ie/parent-app-notes-options
8. This process will close on Friday 10th February 2023.

Students who remain uncertain about their choice:

Please contact Ms. McNamee at fmcnamee@cmbm.ie or Ms. Cullinan at deputyprincipal@cmbm.ie to arrange a conversation about your options.

I also attach a copy of the notes from last evening's presentation.

Please find attached our mock exam timetable for 3rd year students along with guidelines for attendance during the mocks. It is important that the guidelines are followed to ensure a valuable experience for all students.  Please note the start date of Friday 3rd February.

The exams will take place in the gym.  Despite our best efforts to heat the gym, it may feel colder than in classrooms so students should layer up under the uniform to ensure they are comfortable.

Thank you to those who have paid the mock exam charge.  If you haven't yet paid the charge, please do so before Thursday 2nd February.  The fee covers the cost of the exam papers and correction.

Wishing all our Junior Cert students the best as they prepare for and sit their Mocks over the coming days and weeks.  Go n-eirí an t-ádh leo go léir.

School Tour for TY students
Created : 03 Feb 2023, 1:41 PM
Archived : 08 Feb 2023, 12:00 AM

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

We are in the process of considering a school tour abroad for our Transition Year students for 3 to 4 days in May.  The planning regarding this has occurred later than expected as we needed to assess the situation regarding COVID/other infection before considering travel arrangements.  There will be significant costs involved for families - it is difficult to give an exact figure at this juncture, but we estimate on previous experience that the cost will be in the region of €600-700 per student.

We would like your input in the process and would request that you complete the form at TY Tour to inform the next steps in the process.  Please note that in the event of a majority of parents not wishing to have a tour abroad, then the school will consider a domestic tour for students.

Please complete this form before 4pm on Tuesday 7th February.

Many thanks,

Michelle McDermott

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

Our 5th & Transition year Parent-Teacher Meetings will take place on Tuesday 7th February from 4.15pm.  We look forward to meeting you on the evening.

In total, your child's meetings will take approximately one hour and will begin between 4.15pm and 6.15pm.  School will finish at 3.40pm for all students on this date.

Meetings with each teacher should not exceed 5 minutes.  Please be mindful of this when you are attending so that all parents have time with the relevant teachers.  Please reply via the school App or by email to principal@cmbm.ie before 12pm on Friday 3rd February if you CANNOT attend or if there is a particular time needed for you to attend the parent-teacher meeting so that we can allow for smooth scheduling for all who can attend.  Non-reply will assume attendance.

Your meeting time will issue prior to the 7th February and all meetings will be held in person in the school building.

Kind regards,

Reminders regarding collection of students from school
Created : 06 Dec 2022, 11:15 AM
Archived : 06 Feb 2023, 12:00 AM

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

Students who need to leave school during the school day for appointments or owing to illness must be collected from the office by a parent/guardian.  Students are not permitted to leave of their own volition or to walk to an appointment/to home.  This is in the interests of the health and safety of all students.

Please also note that all communication regarding collection/appointments must come through the app or school office and not via your child's mobile phone.

Many thanks for your support.
