I hope you found last evening's subject options event a worthwhile use of your time and thank you for attending. Please be reminded of the requirements for the next stage in your child's progression with us. Please note that the deadline for entry of subject preferences for 5th year or an application for a place in TY is Friday 10th February 2023. Please meet the deadline so that your child's options are included in timetabling and block generation.
Students progressing to TY 2023-24:
Please complete the application form before Friday 10th February 2023.
Students progressing to 5th year 2023-24:
Please contact Ms. McNamee at fmcnamee@cmbm.ie or Ms. Cullinan at deputyprincipal@cmbm.ie to arrange a conversation about your options.
I also attach a copy of the notes from last evening's presentation.
Last Thursday 26th January our Transition year classes went on their Winter trip to Dundrum on Ice. Students had a great day out and enjoyed some time in Dundrum Shopping Centre after their skating.
Please find attached our mock exam timetable for 3rd year students along with guidelines for attendance during the mocks. It is important that the guidelines are followed to ensure a valuable experience for all students. Please note the start date of Friday 3rd February.
The exams will take place in the gym. Despite our best efforts to heat the gym, it may feel colder than in classrooms so students should layer up under the uniform to ensure they are comfortable.
Thank you to those who have paid the mock exam charge. If you haven't yet paid the charge, please do so before Thursday 2nd February. The fee covers the cost of the exam papers and correction.
Wishing all our Junior Cert students the best as they prepare for and sit their Mocks over the coming days and weeks. Go n-eirí an t-ádh leo go léir.
Congratulations to Oisin (1st Year) who won our Green Schools: Green Code Competition! Oisin wrote his code on our Green Schools theme of Litter and Waste
'Come on everybody, let's make haste, We need to help pick up our waste! Come on, hurry, we're running out of time! Let's help our planet stay in its prime!'
Thanks to our Green Schools Committee for organising this event and for choosing the winner!
On Friday 2nd December our TY students took part in #ThinkLanguages, a national event that promotes the benefits of learning languages. They took part in a variety of workshops including an introduction to sign language, drawing Chinese symbols and beginners Japanese.
Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
School will finish at 3.40pm tomorrow evening, Tuesday 7th February, to facilitate our 5th & Transition year parent-teacher meetings. Buses will run at the normal times.
Kind regards,
Michelle McDermott
Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
Students who need to leave school during the school day for appointments or owing to illness must be collected from the office by a parent/guardian. Students are not permitted to leave of their own volition or to walk to an appointment/to home. This is in the interests of the health and safety of all students.
Please also note that all communication regarding collection/appointments must come through the app or school office and not via your child's mobile phone.
Many thanks for your support.
Michelle McDermott
