Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
We are again considering offering an after-school study club after Christmas (starting Monday 9th January) and up until Easter (Friday 31st March).
The club will run from 4.15pm to 6.15pm (Monday to Thursday) and from 1.30pm to 3.30pm on Fridays.
It will cost €4 per evening to attend.
Study will be offered subject to demand, thus if your child would like to attend, please complete the expression of interest form below before tomorrow, Wednesday 21s December.
Currently, we do not have enough numbers to run study in the new year, but if we had a few more applicants, we might make it work!
Kind regards,
Michelle McDermott
Our annual and highly popular Christmas Carol Service will take place today, Tuesday 20th December at 2.15pm in Ballymote Church. All are welcome to join us in person or online at ballymoteparish.org/webcam.
All students in school today are expected to attend. The office will not be accepting sign-outs beyond 1.25pm. Any student that needs to leave for an appointment must have a note submitted on the school app in advance.
All students with the exception of 6th year will finish on Tuesday 20th December.
There will be supervised study available for 6th year students on Wednesday 21st up to 12.30pm. Buses will be running to accommodate these times.
The school will close for Christmas at 12.30pm on Wednesday 21st December and will reopen on Thursday 5th January 2023.
Wishing all students, staff and families a very happy and peaceful Christmas and a cheerful and healthy 2023.
Calling all students and teachers to wear a Christmas jumper or something Christmassy tomorrow Monday 19th December and donate €2 for the St Vincent de Paul who will support many families in our community this Christmas time.
Dear Parent, Student, Staff Member
In light of the orange weather warning that extends to 12pm tomorrow and in the interest of safety of all, coupled with not being able to purchase salt to treat our grounds, school will close tomorrow, Friday 16th December. We look forward to seeing all students and staff back on Monday 19th December.
It is unlikely that buses will run tomorrow - TY students should contact their employers if you are unable to attend.
Kind regards,
Michelle McDermott
Dear Parent/Student
Please see below information from accesscollege.ie regarding upcoming information sessions for the DARE and HEAR schemes. These are access schemes for students who may find it difficult to go to third level due to a disability (DARE scheme) or for financial reasons (HEAR Scheme). If a student applies through either the HEAR or DARE scheme, they may receive additional supports in college and even get into their desired course on reduced points. You can register below to attend the information sessions.
The DARE HEAR Application Information Sessions will take place online on Saturday 14 January 2023. Each session includes a general presentation on DARE or HEAR and how to apply to it, as well as a Questions and Answers session on how to make a successful application. It will also provide an opportunity for applicants and/or parent(s)/ guardian(s) to meet members of the DARE and HEAR team online and find out how the scheme works. They will be able to ask questions about the application process through the Q&A function and can submit questions in advance to be answered by a panel of DARE HEAR Advisors. Attendees will be able to ask questions in a public or private capacity to a DARE HEAR advisor.
The DARE Application Online Presentation and Q&A Session will take place on Saturday 14 Jan 2023 at 10am. This provides an opportunity for students & parent(s)/guardian(s) to meet members of the DARE team & find out how the scheme works.
