Dear Parent(s) / Guardian(s)
Foróige have approached the school about running a 6 week Drug and Alcohol Education and Prevention Project aimed at current 1st and 2nd year students.
This is essentially a personal development programme that focuses on facilitating activities to educate young people on smoking, alcohol and drugs whilst also focusing on increasing young people's communication and decision-making skills. It aims to give young people factual information in order to dispel myths surrounding drugs & alcohol and to challenge their attitudes and opinions with regards to substance use. The programme is facilitated in a fun and interactive manner for students with lots of group activities, discussions, quizzes etc. Further information on the programme can be viewed in the attached document.
The programme is free of charge and would run for one hour after school beginning on Wednesday 22nd February. Therefore parents would need to be available to collect their child from school at 5pm.
If you would like your child to attend please complete the interest form at the link below before Tuesday 7th February. If there is enough interest, parental consent forms will be sent out for completion.
