Dear LCF Students, Parents and Guardians Opening night is fast approaching and our TY students are fierce excited, nervous and are truly eager to entertain you all next week. For those of you who have brought your tickets these can be collected by students in the Canteen at 11am and 13.20 - 13.40 on Friday 1st of April 2022. Our TY students will be manning a desk allocated to each year group and the tickets are in an envelope with the student’s name and class on the front. For those of you who have reserved your tickets but have not yet brought them please purchase them via the school app this evening so that you too might collect your tickets tomorrow. It would be a wonderful gesture from our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th Year students to come down to CBC Monkstown especially on Opening Night to show your support of the TY class. They have worked hard and are fully aware that they are the first group in two years to thread the boards since the Pandemic hit in 2020. The music is wonderful, the dancing is fun, and the acting is well to be seen and experienced - you will be entertained. So, if you have not already done so, please consider purchasing your Opening Night tickets today. Thank you and enjoy the show Ms Early
TY Musical Ticket Information - administration fee

We are aware a number of you are having difficulty adding the school app administration fee of 50c to your ticket booking. It seems to work fine for some people but not for people who are using an iphone to pay for tickets. We are liaising with the app company on this but as people have now paid different administration amounts for tickets ranging from €1 to 50c, the school will now donate any amounts received over the actual ticket price (which currently amounts to €77.50) to the Ukraine Crisis Appeal. Please ignore the app fee for any further ticket purchases and apologies for the inconvenience this has caused some of you. If anyone has any queries relating to payment on the app or has opted out of purchasing musical tickets but now wish to do so please email me at nmaher@loretofoxrock.ie and I will reinstate your option to buy. Kind regards Naoisha Maher Head of Finance

Entries are now open for the 2022 TCD Hist Girls'. Schools' Mace competition. This is an annual debating competition run by the College Historical Society (otherwise known as the Hist) of Trinity College Dublin and is open to all female/non-binary senior cycle (TY, 4th, 5th & 6th year) students in Ireland. This year's Girls' Mace will be held on Saturday 16th of April 2022 online, over Zoom. There will also be a workshop on the basics of debating on the morning of the competition. This will be run by some of the Hist's most successful competitive debaters, who have extensive experience of speaking and/or judging at many competitions at both a school and university level. No debating experience is required. Debating is a very rewarding activity for students, boosting their confidence, critical thinking abilities, and public speaking skills. The purpose of the Girls' Mace is to encourage senior cycle girls to participate in competitive debating by providing them with an opportunity to develop their public speaking skills and build their confidence in a fun and low pressure environment. As the aim is to increase the participation of girls and women in public speaking and debating, the competition is also organised and judged primarily by women/non-binary individuals. Please see attached timetable of the day's events as well as a guide to the competition itself. Any interested student must email Ms Lea (debating@loretofoxrock.ie) by Friday at 2pm.
