It's time to re-embrace the act of sending and receiving Christmas cards. As part of Ms O Kennedy's TY craft module TY 1 students are making some really beautiful cards. This is a tradition worth preserving. It is a truth universally acknowledged that there is nothing more delightful than receiving post. Nice post. Post you can hold in your hand and spend a few seconds deciphering the handwriting and postmark. Knowing that someone was thinking about you for a few moments and saw fit to wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year. How lucky the people that will receive one of these hand crafted cards this Christmas.

Junior 1 Girls A hard fought and well spirited game with Midleton. Midleton playing at home, took the points today. Great attitude all around the pitch, improving and developing hockey skills. Well done on your second time playing together as a team, and wearing the Friary colours.

Today we got a look into the lives of two people who sought drug abuse treatment. Behind substance use disorder is people – people with real stories of struggle and triumph. Today Eddie and Lena spoke to students in TY2 and TY3. Drug and alcohol addiction stories are usually shadowed by short, faceless segments on the news. But there’s a deeper, human element in each story that is too often untold. Lena and Eddie told their story today. We listened to two courageous people, who were caught in the grips of addiction and who continue to live in recovery, helping and inspiring others along the way. Help from the AA and other organisations played an essential role in their lives.

Both our first year girls teams who battled both the conditions and their opponents today in the Friary. Unfortunately both teams started slowly and despite fighting back and creating enough chances to win 10 games, we didn’t have our shooting boots on, our A team coming up 1 point short despite being down by 9 points at the 1st water break! Plenty to work on but lots more positives to take ️
