A unique experience as both teams played each other in the Munster League! An entertaining game played in great spirits, goals from Edel, Sarah, Aoife, Roisin, Siun, Rebecca and Eva! With the standout performance being goalie Beth. ️

The sixth year Art class recently visited the Crawford Gallery in Cork as part of their Leaving Certificate Art Appreciation studies. We were very privileged to see the work of the great Dutch master Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669). Widely regarded as one of the greatest painters in the history of art, Rembrandt was also one of the most innovative printmakers of the seventeenth century. Presented at the Crawford for its only Irish dates, "Rembrandt in Print" comprises fifty of the finest works from the Ashmolean Museum’s world-class collection of etchings and drypoints by Rembrandt.
After a fantastic tour the guide then brought the group to view "Remains", a series of large scale paintings by Irish artist Brian Maguire. Known for his expressionist paintings addressing issues of social injustice Maguire gives a riveting and powerful insight into the plight of thousands of migrants who die each year in the desert on the Mexican /American border in their final, desperate effort to start a new life.
After the tour the students set about making their notes and sketches and then had some free time to enjoy the festive atmosphere in Cork

Garda Recruitment

An Garda Síochána have advised that the next Garda recruitment campaign will commence in early 2022. The two language requirement has been removed. Until now those joining the Garda had to be proficient in two languages, one of which had to be Irish or English. However, under the new changes proficiency in only one language will be required. The Garda Síochána (Admissions and Appointments) Regulations 2013 will be amended to give effect to the change.

Our first years were busy baking for the bake sale in aid of the Dungarvan Lyons Club. They produce some beautiful buns that they sold at break and lunch time in the header! Great work all
