LCVP and Language Exams on Saturday May 8th.

LCVP Exam is in the morning at 10am – 12:30pm. All students to be in school by 9:30 to sign the roll. Full school uniform to be worn. Language exam is in the afternoon and again full school uniform to be worn. The best of luck to all students starting their Leaving Certificate tomorrow.

Head Lice

Unfortunately, it has been brought to our attention that there is an outbreak of head lice in our school. Please check your student's hair today especially behind their ears, please treat accordingly. Most children with head lice will be experiencing some discomfort but not necessarily. We hope this outbreak will be eradicated immediately.

This is the time to review your course choices, - you can add, remove or change the order of your courses.(you cannot add restricted courses at this stage) PLEASE CHECK YOUR LISTS, IF YOU HAVE NOT YET ADDED ANY COURSES, PLEASE ADD THEM NOW. YOU CAN ADD UP TO 20 COURSES. End of Year Assessments May 2021

• Students in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, TY, 5th and LCA will have a period of assessment at the end of the year. • All the dates and times are shown in the timetable, please find attached. • Students will follow their normal timetable. This means students will go to their normal classrooms. • The only difference to the student’s timetable is that at designated times they will sit a one-hour classroom assessment. • During a class where an option subject is timetabled which the student does not study this will be a one hour study period. • 2nd Year students have a reduced number of assessments as they are currently working on CBA’s in some subjects. Students should now be revising for these assessments as part of learning outside the classroom. We would like to wish all our students every success in their assessments. Mr. A Dunne

Art Competition Winners

The Yearbook Committee announced an Art Competition before Easter and we were delighted with the response. The results were fascinating, as students from all years made an effort to create unique art pieces at home. The winners are rewarded with a €20 One4All voucher from each category, which they can collect from the office, Congratulations to our winners! They will all be included in the upcoming Yearbook as well. Thanks to all that entered.

Success for 6th yr History Student Sheenagh Rowland in The Irish National History Competition

Congratulations to Sheenagh Rowland 6th Year who has been selected as one of 10 finalists in the Irish National History Competition run by the Department of Education and Skills. Sheenagh submitted an essay of 1,500 words on 'Edith Wilson in the White House ' after lots of reading and research both in books and on-line. The final is next week. We wish Sheenagh well and acknowledge her wonderful achievement in the competition to date.
