TY Social Justice

As part of Social Justice, TY students participated in the campaign ‘Caring for the Carers’ run by Localise. As part of the campaign the students made videos, cards and pamper hampers to say thanks and offer words of encouragement to the A&E staff in Beaumont Hospital for all their efforts. The handover of the pamper hampers & cards took place Friday the 11th of March at Beaumont Hospital. 4 students Áine Mulligan, Aoife Geary, Lara Finnegan and Aoibh Smith accompanied Ms.Nolan as student representatives at the handover. It was a great success, well done all TY Social Justice students.
Food Village - Parent Survey

Dear parent, A number of parents, students and teachers have asked about the possibility of a canteen in the school and it also arose from the survey last year. As this is not viable, we are exploring other options that are available. Please find attached, links to a survey and to a short video explaining 'Food Village', and the menu is attached to this post (range of choice can be altered to suit the needs of the school). Parents' Association April Meeting - Monday 4th April

TY Show - Back to the 80's

Preparations are well under way for the TY musical, 'Back to the 80's'. The show will run next week from Tuesday 5th to Friday 8th April at 7:30pm each evening. It will be staged in the Clasac Theatre on the Alfie Byrne Road. There are 300 tickets available for each evening, all are welcome but please note that tickets are selling fast so we would encourage you to buy them as soon as possible. Tickets can be bought via the easypayments system - just choose your evening, enter the total tickets needed and the total cost - Adults €15 and concessions €10. We look forward to seeing you there!

Welcome back Johanna Vos

Johanna Vos who is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the American Museum of Natural History. Her research focuses on probing the atmospheres of brown dwarfs, particularly the low-gravity, planetary-mass objects. Before moving to NYC Johanna completed her PhD at the University of Edinburgh and B.A. (Mod) in Trinity College Dublin. Johanna gave an excellent presentations to some students today .Thanks Johanna.

4,897 batteries were collected during Green Schools 'Buns for Batteries ' event today. Thank you to everyone who brought in their used batteries for recycling and to the Green Schools committee for organising the event.

A member of The Lions Club is travelling to Poland on Tuesday and is raising funds for the safe movement and aftercare required for 350 Ukrainian orphans being evacuated to Lodz in Poland. They are looking for smart phones in working order (wiped clean with no SIM cards and no chargers needed) - if anyone has recently upgraded or has unused smart phones lying about the house could you please send them into the school by this Monday 28th March!
