Dear Parents, we are all set to go for our fundraising night in Clontarf Castle.
We are blown away by the generosity of the many parents, past pupils and local businesses who have sponsored a Quiz Round or Named a Table. In addition we have been given spot prize donations valued at well over €1500. We have an array of restaurant vouchers, hampers of beauty products, vouchers for hair and beauty salons, driving lessons, florists and more. These gifts will be raffled on the night and given as prizes to the winning teams. If you'd like to be in with a chance to win but can't attend the Table Quiz why not ask a friend who's going to buy tickets for you ? We will donate half the proceeds of our raffle to UNICEF Ireland's Ukraine appeal.
Every year we hope receive something special that we can auction on the night of the Table Quiz. This is a bumper year....we have some very talented and generous parents in our school community.
We have been gifted two framed prints by twin sisters and Holy Faith Clontarf past pupils Sinéad and Úna Woods, whose daughters are in first year. Sinead's work can be seen at the Red Stables Market in St. Anne's Park and on her website www.naniken.com.
Úna is an illustrator and children's author and you can see her work at www.unawoods.com. We have two signed childrens books as well as a framed ilustration from Úna.
We have been gifted two silk scarves by second year parent Jennifer Rothwell, who designs her own prints and creates beautiful clothing and accessories in silk. Some of Jennifers designs have been acquired by the National Museum of Craft and Design and can be spotted on stars and dignitaries around the world. She has been a most generous sponsor of our Parents Lunch in the past. See more of her beautiful creations at www.jenniferrothwell.com
We will run a silent auction for these donations at the Quiz including bids received by email and on the night.
Payment accepted by cheque, cash or card at the Table Quiz and will be arranged for bidders who cannot attend in person if their bid is successful.
See the attached document for photos of the items for auction and instructions for sending a bid by email if you cannot attend.
Get your bids in right away. The window for emailed bids will close at 7.30pm today.
Don't miss out on a chance to support our school and get your hands on the work of some local artists. A lovely addition to your home, wardrobe or a gift for someone you love.
We will donate half the proceeds of our auction to UNICEF Ireland's Ukraine appeal.
If you haven't booked a table for the Quiz you can still come along and pay at the door. We'll add you to a team of parents from your year group where possible if you don't have 4 - 6 people for a team. €15 per person entry on the night. Limited facility for card payments so remember to bring cash for raffle tickets and fun rounds.
Thank you for your support.

Dear Parents,
After a two year gap there are just two sleeps to our Table Quiz in Clontarf Castle on Thursday. Huge thanks to all the businesses who have sponsored and donated spot prizes. We do still need the support of parents to make the night a success. This is our main fundraiser for the year and a fun night out for all.
Final call to get your teams (4-6 people) together and book your tables on Easypayments.
This year we will donate half the proceeds of our raffle to UNICEF Ireland's appeal for Ukraine. Lovely spot prizes to be won. Remember to bring cash for raffle tickets on the night.
Thank you in advance.

Invitation to participate in nationwide survey

The Ombudsman for Children’s Office has invited pupils from the school to take part in a nationwide survey of 60 schools on the views and experiences of children during the Covid-19 pandemic.
This online survey will take place during school time next week. It will feature 15 multiple choice questions and take around 10 minutes to complete. Examples of the types of questions we will ask, include:
• Overall, do you think that Covid-19 has changed your life a lot/ a little/ not very much/ not at all?
• Since the Covid-19 pandemic began, how many days per week do you do sports or exercise (either inside/outside of school)?
Students and their parents can then decide individually whether they would like to participate, with a full information pack as well as consent and assent forms provided by us.
All answers will be anonymous and no personal student information will be shared or made public. The aim of the survey is to gain a better understanding of, and insight into, children’s views and experiences of the Covid-19 pandemic. A report on the findings will be published and shared it with all the schools that have taken part before it is made public.
Further information is available at www.oco.ie/i-am-a-young-person/covid-survey/
The online consent form can be found here: kwiksurveys.com/s/STsMZhkB
We hope that as many students in the school as possible will take part in the survey and that the report will start an important conversation about the impact of the pandemic on children and young people.
